About the role
Bamboohr is looking for a Human Resources Generalist to become an integral part of their growing team in London, Ontario. This position acts as a primary resource for employees and management on a wide range of human resources matters. The Generalist will be responsible for supporting recruitment efforts, managing employee relations, and ensuring that workplace policies are current and properly communicated. You will play a key role in maintaining a productive and positive work environment across the organization while collaborating with department leaders to address staffing needs and develop strategies that support the company's long-term goals.

What you'll do
- Support the full-cycle recruitment process from writing job postings to coordinating interviews and onboarding new hires
- Manage employee records and maintain accurate personnel files within the designated human resources information system
- Assist with benefits administration and respond to employee questions regarding coverage options and enrollment procedures
- Coordinate new employee orientation sessions and help schedule training programs for incoming team members
- Handle incoming employee relations inquiries and route concerns to the appropriate management personnel
- Help develop and update workplace policies to ensure they reflect current provincial and federal regulations
- Support payroll preparation by verifying time records, attendance data, and leave balances each pay period
- Organize performance review cycles and assist managers with distributing and collecting evaluation forms
- Monitor compliance with provincial employment standards and occupational health and safety regulations across the organization
- Collaborate with the leadership team on workforce planning initiatives and long-term staffing projections
- Maintain the company intranet with current HR announcements, policy updates, and relevant resources for staff
- Prepare monthly human resources reports and present key metrics and trends to senior management
- Facilitate employee engagement activities and support the planning of workplace events throughout the year
- Assist with the development of training materials and coordinate external vendor sessions for staff development
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited institution
- Minimum of two years of experience working in a human resources generalist or equivalent role
- Strong understanding of Canadian employment legislation including provincial labor standards and workplace safety regulations
- Proficiency with human resources information systems and employee database management tools for daily operations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive employee information with discretion and professional conduct at all times
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
- Experience with employee onboarding programs and supporting new hire integration into the organization
- Familiarity with Ontario Employment Standards Act and knowledge of applicable provincial workplace regulations
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with employees at all levels
Nice to have
- Certification through the Chartered Professionals in Human Resources or an equivalent recognized professional designation
- Familiarity with applicant tracking systems and recruitment workflow automation tools is valued by the team
- Previous experience working in a small to medium-sized business or organization setting is preferred
- Knowledge of Ontario-specific employment standards and workplace health and safety regulatory requirements is an asset
- Bilingual capability in English and French is considered an advantage for this position
