About the Position
Transtex seeks a Senior Human Resources Generalist to act as a strategic Business Partner within our U.S. manufacturing environment. In this role, you will architect and drive the execution of the national HR strategy, ensuring it directly supports our business objectives and operational needs. You will be responsible for delivering comprehensive HR services, blending operational reliability with strategic foresight. Your leadership will be critical in cultivating a high-performance, safety-conscious culture across our facilities. The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of both manufacturing operations and the U.S. regulatory landscape, enabling them to guide leaders effectively in a dynamic, demanding setting.
Key Responsibilities
HR Leadership and Strategic Alignment
- Architect and execute a comprehensive HR plan that directly aligns with the unit's business goals and the overarching company vision and values.
- Design an organizational structure that promotes resilience, scalability, and long-term success for the operational unit.
- Forecast and plan workforce requirements to ensure optimal staffing levels in support of production schedules and business expansion.
- Champion a high-standard, customer-centric culture through leadership behaviors and active engagement with teams.
- Mentor and guide managers and supervisors, shifting practices toward a coaching model that strengthens employee relationships and clarity.
Employee Engagement and Experience
- Foster a positive employee experience and a strong, cohesive workplace culture across all locations.
- Act as the central HR resource and trusted partner for managers and employees, providing consistent support and counsel.
- Deliver guidance on complex employee relations topics, including performance management, coaching, disciplinary actions, thorough investigations, and conflict de-escalation.
Workforce Planning, Recruitment, and Onboarding
- Partner with leadership to analyze and support strategic workforce planning initiatives.
- Own and manage the full recruitment lifecycle for both hourly and salaried positions, collaborating closely with hiring managers.
- Coordinate all onboarding and orientation activities to ensure a seamless and engaging experience for new hires.
Continuous Improvement and Strategic Projects
- Lead and participate in HR transformation and improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities for enhanced efficiency.
- Streamline HR processes and workflows by leveraging technology and automation where appropriate.
- Support company-wide HR programs and organizational change initiatives, working in tandem with Corporate HR.
- Define, track, and report on key HR metrics to measure program effectiveness and drive data-informed decisions.
Performance Management and Talent Development
- Provide support for performance management processes, ensuring they are applied fairly and effectively.
- Assist managers with individual employee development, succession planning, and identifying high-potential talent.
- Coordinate and oversee training and development initiatives to build organizational capability.
Employee Relations and Compliance
- Guide managers through corrective action processes, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to legal standards.
- Support terminations and other sensitive employee relations matters, maintaining strict compliance with legal requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve employee engagement, retention, and overall morale.
Payroll, Benefits, and HR Administration
- Process and review U.S. payroll for multiple states, ensuring precision, accuracy, and full compliance.
- Administer employee benefits programs, providing support and guidance during open enrollment periods.
- Maintain all HRIS and payroll records with the highest level of accuracy and confidentiality.
- Respond promptly and knowledgeably to employee inquiries regarding payroll and benefits.
Governance and Legal Compliance
- Ensure strict compliance with federal, state, and local employment legislation across all operational jurisdictions.
- Maintain organized, secure employee files and HR documentation in accordance with legal and company standards.
- Provide support during employment audits and the preparation of regulatory reports.
- Monitor changes in employment law and recommend timely policy updates to safeguard the organization.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possess a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
- Bring a minimum of 5-10 years of progressive Human Resources experience, with a proven track record in manufacturing or industrial settings.
- Demonstrate comprehensive experience managing both hourly (blue-collar) and salaried (white-collar) workforces.
- Show hands-on expertise in processing U.S. payroll, with multi-state experience being a distinct advantage.
- Exhibit strong, in-depth knowledge of U.S. employment legislation, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEOC, OSHA, COBRA, and other relevant federal and state laws.
- Have direct experience conducting thorough workplace investigations and managing complex employee relations cases.
- Possess experience in performance management, recruitment, compensation, and benefits administration.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant HRIS platforms.
