About the role
Zocdoc is seeking an experienced Account Director for Health Systems to lead the growth and development of strategic partnerships with major healthcare organizations across the United States. In this role, you will be responsible for engaging with key stakeholders within large health systems, managing complex and lengthy sales processes, and fostering long-term relationships that enhance patient access to healthcare services. Your efforts will directly contribute to expanding Zocdoc's footprint in the healthcare industry, helping to improve the efficiency of healthcare delivery and patient experience. This position requires a proactive, strategic thinker with a proven track record in enterprise sales, particularly within large healthcare organizations, and the ability to navigate complex decision-making environments.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within large health systems, including hospitals, health networks, and integrated delivery systems.
- Establish and nurture strategic relationships with senior executives and decision-makers, including C-suite leaders, department heads, and operational managers, positioning yourself as a trusted advisor throughout the sales process.
- Lead the entire sales cycle from prospecting, qualification, and needs assessment to proposal development, negotiations, and closing.
- Manage complex sales processes that involve multiple stakeholders across clinical, operational, financial, IT, legal, and procurement departments, ensuring alignment and consensus among all parties.
- Develop detailed account plans and territory strategies to prioritize high-value opportunities, ensuring a consistent and sustainable pipeline of potential deals.
- Create and deliver compelling presentations and demonstrations that clearly communicate Zocdoc's value proposition and how it addresses the specific needs of each healthcare organization.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date forecasts of pipeline, revenue, and deal progression, providing visibility to internal leadership and enabling strategic planning.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Product, Marketing, Solutions, Finance, Legal, and Client Success to facilitate smooth onboarding, implementation, and ongoing support for new partnerships.
- Represent Zocdoc at client meetings, industry conferences, and networking events, with travel requirements of up to 75%, to build brand awareness and develop new relationships.
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape to better position Zocdoc's offerings and anticipate client needs.
- Work with legal and compliance teams to ensure all contracts and agreements adhere to healthcare regulations and company policies.
- Provide feedback from clients and prospects to internal teams to help shape product development and service offerings that meet market demands.
Requirements
- 7 to 10 years of experience in enterprise sales, with a strong focus on large health systems or healthcare organizations.
- Demonstrated success in sourcing, developing, and closing new business within complex healthcare environments.
- Proven ability to navigate and manage lengthy, multi-stakeholder sales cycles involving clinical, operational, financial, and legal decision-makers.
- Consistent track record of achieving or exceeding revenue targets and quotas in a competitive sales environment.
- Strong executive presence with excellent relationship-building skills and the ability to influence decision-makers at the C-suite level.
- Expertise in account planning, territory management, and pipeline development, with a strategic approach to sales.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, capable of engaging technical teams and senior leadership effectively.
- Experience working collaboratively across multiple internal teams such as Product, Marketing, Finance, Legal, and Client Success to ensure successful deal closure and ongoing client satisfaction.
- Familiarity with CRM systems, especially Salesforce, and proficiency with Google Workspace tools.
- Knowledge of healthcare industry standards, regulations, and compliance issues is highly desirable.
- Ability to travel up to 75% for client meetings, industry events, and conferences.
Nice to have
- Prior experience in healthcare technology sales or related sectors, such as health IT, digital health, or healthcare SaaS.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulatory and compliance issues, including HIPAA and other relevant standards.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with a focus on scaling sales efforts.
- Familiarity with AI-driven productivity tools and how they can enhance sales and client engagement processes.

- The base salary for this remote role ranges from $204,850 to $260,000, depending on experience and qualifications. Additional variable pay and equity options may be available for certain positions.
