About the role
This leadership position oversees the strategy and operations for intermodal accounts across both brokerage and transportation management divisions. You will mentor a cross-border team of managers and coordinators in the US and Mexico while collaborating with senior leadership to optimize performance metrics. The role requires balancing the execution of tactical initiatives with the development of a cohesive long-term vision for intermodal growth. You will act as a key liaison between operational teams and executive stakeholders to ensure alignment on service standards. Success in this position will be defined by your ability to drive defect reduction while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. You will own the end-to-end management of key intermodal accounts, ensuring that operational and commercial targets are met or exceeded. This position is critical in translating high-level business objectives into tangible results across the intermodal network.

What you'll do
- Convert high-level business objectives into actionable operational roadmaps for intermodal services.
- Proactively identify and resolve service issues for internal teams and external customers to maintain operational excellence.
- Manage and scale a team of operations coordinators, account managers, and operations managers across US and Mexico regions.
- Allocate resources effectively to meet organizational goals and service level agreements.
- Utilize data to drive continuous process improvement and influence cross-functional stakeholders on strategic initiatives.
- Balance CSAT metrics with overall strategy to achieve defect reduction and sustainable growth.
- Identify and capture new business opportunities to support company growth and market expansion.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key intermodal partners to foster collaboration and trust.
- Monitor key performance indicators and adjust operational plans to ensure target achievement.
- Lead cross-departmental projects to streamline workflows and improve service delivery.
- Provide mentorship and career development guidance to direct reports to build a strong leadership pipeline.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide actionable feedback to team members.
- Coordinate with finance and sales teams to forecast capacity and optimize pricing strategies.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations across all intermodal operations.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree and/or 4+ years of professional experience.
- 5+ years of experience in the freight industry, specifically within Intermodal.
- 2+ years of experience in a management role.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team of operations and account management professionals.
- Strong understanding of intermodal transportation operations and logistics principles.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding service level agreements and key performance indicators.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions under pressure.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Willingness to travel as needed to support team members and key intermodal partners.
- Ability to navigate complex cross-departmental relationships and align diverse stakeholders.
- Commitment to upholding company standards and fostering an inclusive work environment.
- Experience with transportation management systems (TMS) and data analysis tools is mandatory.
- Demonstrated success in managing high-volume intermodal freight operations.

Compensation: Base salary range is $101,000 to $123,000.
- Benefits: Eligible for company-sponsored health, dental, and vision plans, 401k matching, parental leave, disability coverage, life insurance, and wellness programs.
