Senior Manager, Procurement
Job description
About the role
StackAdapt is the leading technology company that empowers marketers to reach, engage, and convert audiences with precision. With 465 billion automated optimizations per second, the AI-powered StackAdapt Marketing Platform seamlessly connects brand and performance marketing to drive measurable results across the entire customer journey. The most forward-thinking marketers choose StackAdapt to orchestrate high-impact campaigns across programmatic advertising and marketing channels. We are looking for a Senior Manager, Procurement to join our Financial Operations team. Reporting to the SVP of Accounting, this role will lead StackAdapt's procurement function, overseeing strategic sourcing, vendor management, contract governance, and the continued evolution of our procurement operations. You will partner closely with leaders across Finance, Legal, IT, Security, and other business functions to ensure our purchasing practices are efficient, scalable, and aligned with the company's long-term growth. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in procurement within a high-growth technology environment, with a proven track record of negotiating complex vendor agreements, driving cost optimization, and building strong procurement governance. You are both a strategic thinker and a hands-on operator - comfortable developing long-term procurement strategy while rolling up your sleeves to improve processes, analyze spend, and lead critical negotiations. You are a collaborative leader who enjoys developing high-performing teams and influencing stakeholders at all levels of the organization. StackAdapt is a remote-first company, and we are open to candidates located anywhere within Canada for this position. We encourage applicants from all backgrounds to apply.
What you'll do
- Lead and evolve StackAdapt's procurement strategy, policies, and governance frameworks to ensure vendor selection, contract approvals, and purchasing decisions are efficient, scalable, and aligned with business objectives.
- Lead end-to-end strategic sourcing initiatives and complex vendor negotiations, securing competitive pricing, favorable commercial terms, and strong service agreements while actively mitigating business risk.
- Build, coach, and develop a high-performing Procurement team by setting clear priorities, raising the bar on execution, and creating structured opportunities for professional growth as the function continues to mature.
- Oversee the full vendor lifecycle in partnership with Legal and cross-functional stakeholders, managing contracts comprehensively and strengthening vendor relationships while ensuring strict compliance with procurement policies and governance standards.
- Analyze company-wide spend to identify opportunities for cost savings, vendor consolidation, and operational efficiencies, while rigorously tracking procurement performance against budgets, KPIs, and strategic objectives.
- Continuously evaluate and improve procurement workflows and systems, particularly the Purchase-to-Pay process, to create a more efficient, scalable, and user-friendly purchasing experience across the organization.
- Challenge the status quo through continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to simplify workflows, enhance governance, automate manual work, and build a more scalable and resilient procurement function.
- Build trusted, strategic partnerships with leaders across Finance, Legal, IT, Information Security, Sales, Marketing, and other business functions to align procurement priorities, influence purchasing decisions, and deliver strategic value across the organization.
Requirements
- Bring 8+ years of experience leading procurement, strategic sourcing, or vendor management within a high-growth technology company, demonstrating a strong ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, evolving environments.
- Demonstrate proven success in negotiating complex vendor agreements, managing contracts end-to-end, and driving strategic sourcing initiatives that balance cost savings with risk mitigation and operational excellence.
- Show a strong track record of leading and developing teams, including mentoring procurement professionals and fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, and accountability.
- Exhibit deep expertise in managing SaaS, software, cloud infrastructure, and professional services agreements, with a thorough understanding of the nuances and complexities of technology vendor relationships.
- Highlight extensive experience using procurement tools and systems to manage spend analytics, contract repositories, and vendor performance metrics to inform data-driven decision-making.
- Illustrate strong collaboration skills by working closely with Finance, Legal, IT, Security, and business stakeholders to ensure procurement processes are integrated, compliant, and supportive of broader organizational goals.
- Communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, with the ability to translate complex procurement concepts into actionable recommendations for executive leadership and cross-functional partners.
- Commit to maintaining the highest standards of ethics, transparency, and compliance in all procurement activities, ensuring that all vendor engagements align with StackAdapt's values and corporate governance frameworks.
Nice to have
- Preferred experience within the advertising technology or programmatic media industry, with an understanding of the unique procurement dynamics and vendor landscapes in this space.
- Familiarity with AI-powered marketing platforms and technology ecosystems, enabling more effective vendor evaluation and partnership strategies in a rapidly evolving market.
- Experience supporting remote-first, hybrid, or globally distributed teams, with a demonstrated ability to drive collaboration and process excellence across diverse locations.
- Knowledge of automation and process optimization tools specific to procurement operations, including eProcurement platforms, contract lifecycle management systems, and analytics dashboards.
- Background in managing multi-jurisdictional vendor relationships and compliance considerations across Canadian provinces and relevant international regulations.
