You will leverage extensive transaction experience to guide clients through the most critical phases of the M&A lifecycle. This role owns the deep analytical work required to uncover risks and value in complex deals, ensuring that decision makers are equipped with clear, actionable insight. You will own the preparation of detailed financial and operational analyses, translating raw data into narratives that drive confident deal execution. You will act as a trusted advisor, applying accounting standards and transaction knowledge to solve client-specific problems before and after closing. You will collaborate closely with senior team members to refine methodologies and elevate the quality of deliverables. You will contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by sharing lessons learned and best practices across the transaction services portfolio. What you'll do
- Apply advanced financial acumen and knowledge of GAAP to analyze a broad spectrum of issues arising during M&A transactions, providing clients with pragmatic and technically sound guidance.
- Perform in-depth research and analysis related to business transactions, examining financial statements, operational metrics, and market dynamics to inform strategic recommendations.
- Prepare high-quality analyses of quality of earnings, net working capital, and cash flow reconciliations, ensuring that findings are clear, accurate, and aligned with client objectives.
- Conduct executive management interviews of target companies to assess business drivers, risks, and operational realities, extracting insights that shape the transaction narrative.
- Draft compelling sections of reports, presentations, and other client-facing deliverables, balancing detail with clarity for diverse audiences.
- Partner with the project team to manage multiple workstreams, coordinating efforts to meet strict deadlines and maintain consistency across deliverables.
- Provide hands-on coaching and guidance to junior team members, helping them build technical skills and ownership of their work.
- Support the evaluation of integration challenges, including operational due diligence, systems alignment, and financial reporting implications during the post-close period.
- Contribute to opening balance sheet and financial reporting engagements, ensuring that historical positions are accurately reflected and well documented.
- Assist in the execution of lender services and distressed transaction services, addressing unique challenges that arise in complex or stressed scenarios.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting from an accredited institution.
- Possess a minimum of 4 years of relevant transaction experience, with a demonstrated ability to analyze a target company's quality of earnings, net working capital, and cash flows.
- Exhibit advanced Excel proficiency, including confident use of functions such as SUMIF, SUMIFS, VLOOKUP, and INDEXMATCH to manipulate data and build robust models.
- Show a genuine passion for developing and maintaining strong, trust-based client relationships over the long term.
- Thrive in a dynamic, ever-changing work environment, remaining composed and effective when priorities shift quickly.
- Consistently identify problems early and instinctively look for practical, effective solutions without needing extensive direction.
