About the role
We are seeking a dedicated finance professional to join our team and play a role in supporting accounting and finance operations for U.S. entities. This position focuses on month-end close processes and financial reporting, requiring a strong background in U.S. GAAP, complex accounting practices, and internal controls. As a Senior Associate, you will be responsible for managing general ledger activities while ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

What you'll do
- Lead the financial close processes at the end of each month, quarter, and year using Oracle NetSuite, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Oversee the preparation and management of complex accounting schedules, including those related to intangible assets and goodwill amortization.
- Conduct thorough reviews and perform detailed reconciliations for bank accounts, intercompany transactions, and the general ledger to maintain financial integrity.
- Analyze and review U.S. state and local tax filings, collaborating with external tax advisors to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Supervise the validation and elimination of intercompany transactions, manage cross-border funding, and ensure adherence to Transfer Pricing regulations.
- Prepare comprehensive audit schedules and documentation necessary for statutory, tax, and internal audits, facilitating smooth audit processes.
- Review and manage vendor and payroll accruals, along with overseeing accounts payable and receivable functions to ensure financial accuracy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance financial processes and implement best practices in accounting operations.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations to ensure compliance and best practices are followed.
- Assist in the development and implementation of internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the reliability of financial reporting.
- Participate in special projects and initiatives as needed, contributing to the overall success of the finance team.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3-4 years of experience in U.S. accounting, financial reporting, or auditing, preferably within a Global Capability Center or U.S.-focused financial services environment.
- An MBA in Finance, M.Com, or Semi-Qualified CA is required to ensure a strong educational foundation in finance principles.
- Proficiency in MS Excel is essential, with advanced skills in data analysis, financial modeling, and reconciliation techniques.
- Familiarity with enterprise ERP systems, particularly Oracle NetSuite, is highly desirable for effective financial management.
- A solid understanding of U.S. GAAP, general ledger accounting, and the month-end close process is crucial for success in this role.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities are necessary, along with a collaborative mindset and self-motivation.
- The capacity to manage deliverables across U.S. and India time zones while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism is important.
- Willingness to work shift hours from 4:00 PM to 1:00 AM IST to align with U.S. operational hours.
