About the role
This position is dedicated to an Associate in Finance Operations who will own the integrity and execution of U.S. accounting support activities on a daily basis. The hire will be responsible for managing general ledger activities with precision, ensuring that all transactions are accurately recorded and maintained in the system of record. You will own the month-end closing process for U.S. entities, driving timely completion of all necessary steps and ensuring deliverables are met without compromise. A core part of this role involves performing detailed financial reconciliations, where you will verify account balances and resolve discrepancies to maintain clean and auditable books. You will support U.S. accounting processes by acting as a critical extension of the finance team, translating requirements into actionable tasks in a remote setup. The role requires a solid background in core accounting and financial reporting, giving you ownership over the quality and consistency of financial data. You will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure that financial information is clear, accurate, and aligned with reporting standards. Key facts

What you'll do
You will reconcile sub-ledgers to the general ledger to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records on a recurring basis. The role involves preparing and reviewing month-end journal entries, with a focus on correctness, documentation, and adherence to deadlines. You will build and maintain waterfall schedules for complex balance sheet and income statement items to track movements and resolve variances. Using lookup formulas and pivot tables in MS Excel, you will analyze financial data to identify trends, anomalies, and areas requiring further investigation. You will support the close process by preparing detailed reports related to accruals, prepaids, and fixed assets for review by U.S. stakeholders. The position requires you to interact with ERP systems, particularly Oracle NetSuite, to post transactions, run extracts, and validate data integrity. You will coordinate with U.S.-based team members to clarify requirements, confirm expectations, and ensure that deliverables meet high standards. The role involves maintaining strict confidentiality when handling sensitive financial information across different time zones and internal teams. You will participate in process improvement initiatives by documenting current workflows and suggesting enhancements for efficiency and control.
Requirements
You must bring 2-3 years of hands-on experience in U.S. accounting, general ledger maintenance, or finance operations to succeed in this role. A formal educational background is essential, and you must hold an MBA in Finance, an M.Com degree, or be a Semi-Qualified Chartered Accountant. You should have a strong command of MS Excel, demonstrating proficiency in creating and managing lookup formulas, pivot tables, waterfall schedules, and data reconciliations. Experience working with a standard ERP system is required, with a clear preference for exposure to Oracle NetSuite in similar finance operations settings. You must possess a firm grasp of core U.S. accounting concepts, including General Ledger, Accruals, Prepaids, and Fixed Assets, to perform tasks accurately and independently. A basic understanding of U.S. statutory compliance requirements is necessary to support reporting and control activities effectively. Excellent communication skills are mandatory, enabling you to convey complex financial information clearly and professionally in written and verbal interactions. Nice to have
Previous experience working on U.S. accounting processes or finance operations in a shared services or outsourcing environment is preferred. Familiarity with ERP configurations and process mapping in Oracle NetSuite would be an advantage for this role. Exposure to waterfall analysis, variance reporting, and financial dashboards built in Excel is desirable. Any background in handling month-end close activities for entities with U.S. GAAP reporting requirements will be valued. Experience working across time zones and supporting global finance teams is a welcome trait for this position.
Practical notes
This is a remote position based in India, and full-time hours are expected from Monday to Friday. The working hours for this role are fixed from 4:00 PM to 1:00 AM IST to ensure proper alignment with U.S. based finance teams. Candidates must be available for the entire shift duration on all working days to meet operational commitments and handover requirements.
