About the role
This position is responsible for architecting and deploying the comprehensive sales training and development strategy specifically for Statewide Remodeling's in-home sales division. You will own the end-to-end lifecycle of training initiatives, ensuring that every interaction with sales consultants, managers, and leaders directly supports superior customer experiences. The core focus of this role is to measurably improve sales effectiveness, drive conversion rates, and support the strategic growth objectives of the organization. You will act as the central subject matter expert, translating complex sales methodologies into practical, engaging learning experiences for adult learners in the field. This position requires a proactive mindset to identify skill gaps and deploy targeted solutions that align with evolving business needs. You will collaborate closely with regional leaders to ensure that training content remains relevant and impactful across all operational markets. What you'll do
Develop and implement a structured onboarding curriculum that accelerates the proficiency of new sales consultants within Statewide Remodeling's in-home sales division. Design advanced skill-building workshops that address specific challenges faced by experienced sales managers and team leaders. Create standardized training materials, guides, and playbooks that ensure consistency in messaging and sales methodology across all markets. Analyze individual and team performance data to identify specific areas for improvement and tailor development plans accordingly. Facilitate interactive training sessions that utilize adult learning principles to maximize engagement and knowledge retention. Partner with department leaders to forecast future skill requirements and design programs that support upcoming business initiatives. Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs by measuring changes in sales metrics, rep competency, and overall team performance. Maintain a current library of sales resources, product updates, and competitive insights for easy access by the sales force. Serve as a primary resource for coaching and refresher training to help consultants overcome specific performance obstacles. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to integrate new product launches and process changes into the ongoing training curriculum seamlessly.
Requirements
Candidates must possess a minimum of five years of documented success in residential in-home sales roles, demonstrating a proven track record of achieving targets and mastering complex sales cycles. You must bring a minimum of three years of hands-on experience in sales training, coaching, or leadership positions, with a clear history of developing capable sales professionals. It is essential that you have direct experience conducting interviews and selecting new employees, ensuring a precise and reliable hiring process for sales positions. You must have a demonstrated background in designing and leading robust adult learning programs that translate theoretical concepts into practical sales behaviors. Superior presentation and facilitation abilities are mandatory, as you will be responsible for delivering high-energy, impactful training to diverse audiences. You must be adept at analyzing complex sales metrics and performance data to derive actionable insights that inform training strategies and sales improvements. The role requires the physical and mental capacity to travel extensively, with the expectation to be away from home up to 60% of the time to support various markets. You must be fully compliant with all company policies and ethical standards regarding sales practices and customer interactions.
Nice to have
Preferred candidates will have direct experience working within the home improvement industry, specifically with product categories such as windows, siding, roofing, baths, or full home remodeling solutions. Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM systems is highly desirable to effectively manage training data and sales performance tracking. Instructional design experience is favored to ensure that learning paths are efficient, engaging, and scalable for large sales teams. Possession of a professional training certification, such as those offered by ATD or CPTD, is valued as it demonstrates a commitment to the science and craft of adult education.
