About the role
The Head of AML & KYC - APAC will take ownership of Quantexa's Anti-Money Laundering, KYC, and broader anti-financial crime solution suites across the Asia-Pacific region, spanning banking, government, and insurance sectors as assigned by the CPO for AML, KYC, and Financial Crime. This role requires the ability to translate complex regional AML market requirements and regulatory expectations into coherent global product features and enhancements. The successful hire will drive strategic Go-to-Market planning and support the sales organization in expanding key accounts and pipeline within the region. They will ensure existing projects deliver maximum value from initial conversations through implementation to go-live and ongoing optimization. The candidate will build market eminence for Quantexa while elevating their own personal brand as a regional thought leader. They will leverage insights from regional deployments and stakeholder interactions to collaborate with Product and R&D on creating more suitable AML and KYC products for local markets. Close collaboration with core regional and global functions including Sales, Marketing, Technology Account Partners, Solutions Engineering, R&D, Delivery, Analytics, Architecture, HR, Finance, and Alliances will be essential to success.

What you'll do
Translate regional AML market requirements and regulatory needs into Quantexa's global product roadmap features and enhancements.
Ensure Quantexa's AML, KYC, and wider financial crime propositions are meaningful, highly articulated, and aligned for the Asia-Pacific market context.
Maintain deep currency of knowledge regarding Quantexa's product portfolio, including the R&D roadmap and new feature developments in AML and graph analytics.
Support the commercial organization in meeting the overall ARR targets for AML, KYC, and Financial Crime across the region.
Train and enable commercial teams with region-specific account strategies and approaches for AML, KYC, and related financial crime solutions.
Support pitches and drive opportunities across the Asia-Pacific region, ensuring Quantexa's value proposition is clearly communicated.
Create and support business case development, ensuring AML and KYC propositions demonstrate quantifiable ROI and move the needle for customers.
Participate in and support proof-of-concept activities with clients, validating platform value and use cases.
Capture compelling case studies and success stories from successful AML and KYC implementations to strengthen future sales efforts.
Evangelize AML and KYC product benefits to the industry through events, roundtables, thought leadership, and market positioning initiatives.
Build and present both standard and bespoke solution demonstrations tailored with AML and KYC-specific messaging for diverse stakeholders.
Review proposals, Statements of Work, and project changes to ensure alignment with regional priorities and commercial objectives.
Provide direction to delivery teams on regional AML and KYC priorities, guiding efforts toward highest-value objectives and outcomes.
Engage with the Technology Account Partners organization to connect with existing customers across ANZ, Singapore, Malaysia, and Japan, highlighting value delivered and ensuring satisfaction.
Provide guidance and deep AML industry insights to senior client stakeholders to support long-term success and continuous platform value realization.
Collaborate with Analytics Assurance to ensure AML models meet customer needs and deliver intended business benefits as modeled.
Work closely with alliances and partners to support them with enablement, intellectual property creation, ideation, pitches, and articulation of Quantexa's value.
Requirements
You must have proven experience in using technology and data to identify, assess, and mitigate financial crime risks within a regional or global environment.
You must have a strong background in Anti-Money Laundering, KYC, and broader financial crime compliance, with demonstrable experience in regulated environments.
You must possess a deep understanding of the Asia-Pacific AML and KYC landscape, including regional regulatory frameworks and market-specific compliance requirements.
You must have experience translating complex business and regulatory requirements into clear product strategies and feature sets.
You must have a track record of building and maintaining trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, including clients, partners, and internal executive teams.
You must have experience driving commercial outcomes in a SaaS or technology-enabled enterprise software environment, with a focus on large-scale implementations.
You must be comfortable operating in a fast-paced, matrixed organization and managing multiple priorities across distributed teams and time zones.
You must demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into actionable recommendations.
You must have excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for both technical and executive audiences across diverse cultures.
Nice to have
Experience with Quantexa's platform, including decision intelligence and graph analytics capabilities, would be advantageous for demonstrating solution fit.
Prior success in supporting proof-of-concept initiatives and creating compelling business cases for technology deployments in financial crime.
A background in banking, government, or insurance sectors within the Asia-Pacific region, with an understanding of their specific AML and KYC challenges.
Experience in thought leadership, including participation in industry events, roundtables, or publishing articles related to AML, KYC, and financial crime.
Practical notes
This role may require travel within the Asia-Pacific region to support client engagements, participate in industry events, and collaborate with global teams.
Candidates must be eligible to work in Malaysia and obtain any necessary work visas or documentation as required by local regulations.
