You will conduct synchronous video visits as a 1099 independent contractor, managing your own caseload. This role involves building care plans, conducting sessions, and handling documentation and payer interactions specific to the perimenopause and menopause transition. Pomelo Care provides the infrastructure, administrative support, and patient matching to allow you to focus on clinical care.
This is a 1099 independent contractor role and is not an employment (W-2) position. As an independent contractor, you will not be eligible for employee benefits, including but not limited to health insurance, paid time off, workers' compensation, or unemployment benefits. Pomelo Care provides practice support services, including client matching, billing, and administrative assistance for your independent practice.
Responsibilities
As a member of the Pomelo network, your core duties will center on delivering high-quality, evidence-based mental health care through a virtual platform. You will manage the full lifecycle of patient interactions within your designated caseload.
- Conduct synchronous video visits with women navigating the physical and emotional changes of perimenopause and menopause.
- Develop and maintain individualized care plans that address specific health needs, utilizing evidence-based frameworks.
- Implement non-hormonal symptom management strategies, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Menopause (CBT-M) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), to address issues like insomnia and brain fog.
- Ensure all documentation is timely, accurate, and adheres to clinical and privacy standards.
- Review clinical notes for quality assurance prior to any patient handoff or care transition.
- Finalize and ship comprehensive care pathways that align with established practice guidelines.
- Partner with payers to verify coverage and resolve administrative issues related to services.
- Integrate into Pomelo's scheduling ecosystem, confirming availability and licensure details for patient matching.
Qualifications
To ensure you can deliver safe and effective care, you must meet the following criteria. Your license and experience validate your ability to work autonomously in this role.

- Maintain a minimum of three years of direct experience providing mental health care to women.
- Demonstrate proficiency with telehealth platforms, video conferencing technology, and electronic health record systems.
- Exercise strong clinical judgment and the capacity to make autonomous decisions during patient sessions.
The Credentialing Process
Upon acceptance of your application, a member of the Pomelo team will guide you through a structured onboarding process. This ensures that all regulatory and administrative prerequisites are met before you begin seeing patients.
- Participate in introductory video calls with recruitment and clinical team members.
- Submit verification of your current licensure and personal liability insurance coverage.
- Complete the enrollment process to participate with Pennsylvania commercial health plans via the Pomelo platform.
- Successfully pass a background screening.
