Midlife Registered Dietitian (Contract)
Job description
Midlife Registered Dietitian (Contract) at Pomelo Care.
About the role
Midlife Dietitian Opportunity with Pomelo Care
Pomelo Care is establishing a network of seasoned registered dietitians to provide synchronous patient care for individuals experiencing perimenopause and menopause. This opportunity is structured as a 1099 independent contractor arrangement. It is not an employment (W-2) role, and participation does not include employee benefits such as health coverage, paid leave, workers' compensation, or unemployment insurance. Pomelo Care supports your independent practice with functions like client matching, billing, and administrative assistance.
As a member of the Pomelo network, your responsibilities will include conducting synchronous video visits with patients, delivering one-on-one virtual nutrition guidance to promote lifestyle change, and working with patients over a multi-week framework to achieve symptom improvement and lasting behavioral shifts. You will maintain precise documentation and adhere to all clinical, privacy, quality, and compliance standards set forth by Pomelo.
To qualify, you must hold national RD or RDN certification and possess an active license to practice in Ohio. You are also required to have at least three years of experience delivering evidence-based nutrition therapy for individuals with metabolic syndrome, body composition changes, osteopenia or osteoporosis, gut health conditions such as IBS, and those following plant-forward or plant-based eating patterns. You must be proficient with telehealth platforms and video conferencing tools and demonstrate strong clinical judgment to work autonomously during patient sessions.
The credentialing process begins with an application, followed by video discussions with recruitment and clinical team members. You will need to submit verification of your license and personal liability insurance, enroll with commercial health plans through Pomelo, and complete a background check.
Pomelo Care provides extensive support to help you focus on patient care. This includes handling credentialing, billing, and administrative tasks for your Pomelo visits. The company manages patient matching and scheduling based on your availability, licensure, and credentialing status. You will also have access to administrative and technical support, documentation assistance, and optional community resources such as case consultations and clinical updates. You maintain control over your schedule, choosing when you are available to accept visit opportunities without any guaranteed minimum volume or earnings.
Pomelo Care is committed to diversity and inclusion, seeking collaborators from a wide range of backgrounds and identities. Compensation is provided on a per-visit basis and varies based on visit type, duration, timing, payer requirements, and other program considerations. Based on current structures and typical session lengths, completed visits may generate earnings comparable to $60.00 to $70.00 per active visit hour. Pomelo Care does not guarantee a specific number of visits or a minimum level of income.
