This position involves owning a clinical caseload dedicated to individuals experiencing midlife transitions. You will design and conduct synchronous video consults to guide physiological change and symptom relief. The role emphasizes independent practice within a digital network, where you guard patient privacy while facilitating steady routines. It is ideal for a practitioner who prefers direct, virtual care over traditional employment structures.

Engagement and Compensation

Your engagement is as a 1099 independent contractor, not a W-2 employee. This classification means you are responsible for your own business obligations and are not eligible for employee benefits such as health insurance, paid time off, workers' compensation, or unemployment insurance. Pomelo Care supports your independent practice by handling client matching, billing, and administrative logistics.

Compensation is structured on a per-visit basis. Rates are determined by visit type, duration, timing, payer requirements, and other program variables. While earnings fluctuate, completed visits typically generate income in a range reflective of $60.00 to $70.00 per active visit hour. Pomelo Care does not guarantee a minimum number of visits or a fixed income level.

Key Responsibilities

Your daily work will focus on several critical clinical and administrative functions. You will set intake flows to capture detailed patient history before the first consult. During sessions, you will design personalized nutrition plans via phone and video. You will guide patients through multi-week programs aimed at improving perimenopause symptoms and establishing lasting habits. Maintaining precise clinical records that adhere to privacy and compliance rules is essential. You will also coordinate with commercial health plans by completing Pomelo enrollment steps. Conducting virtual consults requires strong, independent clinical judgment. You will review outcomes through optional case consultations and provider forums. Scheduling remains flexible, aligning with patient demand and your availability.

Required Qualifications

To join this network, you must hold national RD or RDN certification and a current license to practice in Michigan. You should have accumulated at least three years of experience providing evidence-based nutrition therapy. Your caseload history must include work with metabolic syndrome, weight and body composition changes, osteopenia or osteoporosis, and gut health concerns such as IBS or elimination diets. You must be comfortable advising on plant-forward diets and anti-inflammatory eating patterns. Proficiency with telehealth platforms, video conferencing tools, and electronic documentation systems is mandatory.

Operational Details

Your practice will be based in a HQ location. You will engage with a steady stream of patients navigating specific health transitions. Documentation standards will be strict, requiring timely and accurate records. You will follow all applicable clinical, privacy, quality, and compliance standards for every interaction conducted through the Pomelo platform.

By joining Pomelo, you gain a support structure that allows you to focus on clinical care. Administrative burdens such as credentialing, billing, and scheduling are managed by the network. Patient matching and scheduling support are provided based on your licensure, credentialing status, and availability. You will have access to administrative and technical support for Pomelo systems, along with documentation assistance. Optional case consultations, provider forums, and clinical updates are available to foster a sense of community. You retain full control over your availability, accepting or declining visit opportunities as you choose.
