About the role
PayPay Securities is seeking a talented Product Designer to join our team in Tokyo. In this role, you will work closely with product managers, engineers, and senior designers to enhance the user experience across our suite of financial products. Your primary focus will be on designing intuitive, engaging, and efficient interfaces for our native applications, mini-apps, PC trading sites, and management tools. You will play a key role in shaping the future of asset management services in Japan, especially targeting users who are new to investing. What you'll do
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers, and Senior Designers to develop new features and improve existing functionalities, ensuring a and user-friendly experience.
- Address various design challenges related to securities products, creating innovative solutions that meet user needs and business goals.
- Lead the UI/UX design process for PayPay Securities' native applications, mini-apps, PC trading websites, and internal management tools, ensuring consistency and high quality across platforms.
- Develop detailed UX flows, wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs based on established concepts, design systems, and user research insights.
- Conduct user research activities such as surveys, interviews, and usability testing to gather qualitative and quantitative data, informing design decisions.
- Analyze data from various sources, including numerical analysis tools, to identify areas for product improvement and propose data-driven design solutions.
- Create prototypes and visual assets that clearly communicate design ideas to stakeholders and development teams.
- Participate in design reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring adherence to brand standards and usability principles.
- Maintain and update design documentation, style guides, and pattern libraries to ensure consistency across all products.
- Work closely with developers during the implementation phase to ensure the final product aligns with the design specifications and user experience goals.
- Support the continuous improvement of design processes and workflows within the team, sharing best practices and staying updated on industry trends.
- Contribute to the overall product strategy by providing insights from a design perspective, helping to prioritize features and user experience enhancements.
Requirements
- 3 to 5+ years of professional experience in UI/UX design, particularly for mobile services (iOS/Android apps) and web platforms.
- Proven experience designing for financial or securities-related products is a plus.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar software.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating your design work, including case studies that showcase your problem-solving skills and design process.
- Native Japanese speaker or hold JLPT N2 or higher, with excellent communication skills in Japanese.
- Solid understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices in UI/UX design.
- Ability to conduct user research, analyze data, and translate insights into actionable design improvements.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams, collaborating effectively with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders.
- Strong visual design skills, including layout, typography, and color theory.
- Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design practices.
Nice to have
- Experience in product design within the financial services or fintech industry.
- Familiarity with Human-Centered Design (HCD) methodologies and design thinking processes.

Practical notes
- This position is open to residents of Japan only.
- Applicants must not apply simultaneously to PayPay Corporation or PayPay Card Corporation.
- The role involves working on-site at our Tokyo office; remote work is .
- Working hours are from 9:00 AM to 5:45 PM with Super Flex Time (no core hours), allowing flexible start and end times.
- The workweek includes weekends off, with holidays on Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays in Japan.
- Additional holidays include a summer break (two days, typically between July 1 and September 30) and year-end/New Year holidays (December 31 to January 3).
- Paid leave is granted upon employment, starting from 1 to 10 days depending on the joining month.
- Salary is paid in 12 monthly installments, with annual salary reviews based on performance and capabilities.
