Arista Networks is seeking a skilled EMC Design - Product Compliance Engineer to enhance our product development efforts throughout the manufacturing process. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Engineering and Platform Design, allowing you to work alongside some of the industry's leading technical experts. Key facts
What you'll do
- Focus on the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) design elements of hardware, specifically targeting chassis and printed circuit board (PCB) layouts.
- Develop comprehensive compliance plans by conducting thorough research and applying engineering principles, while also adapting methodologies and qualifying vendors and components for effective EMC suppression.
- Oversee the compliance program by creating detailed schedules, estimating costs, and identifying essential resources such as testing laboratories and equipment necessary for compliance verification.
- Engage in hardware design reviews, offering constructive feedback on EMC considerations for chassis and boards to support development teams.
- Implement EMC testing methodologies and formulate design guidelines, including research and development measurements at the chassis level.
- Ensure compliance documentation is accurate by completing necessary applications, recording test results, and preparing investigative reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist the engineering team by reviewing outstanding issues, coordinating necessary actions, and actively participating in team meetings and reports.
- Compile compliance reports through the collection and analysis of measurement data, ensuring all findings are well-documented and actionable.
- Take initiative on diverse requests, continuously seeking opportunities to improve job performance and enhance the organization's reputation in the industry.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or 3-7 years of relevant experience that can substitute for formal education.
- Knowledge of EMC regulatory standards and processes, particularly as they pertain to mass-produced Data Center Switches.
- Familiarity with common regulatory challenges, industry best practices, and international certification procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with team members from various disciplines to meet compliance requirements and maintain thorough documentation.
- Proficiency in reviewing schematics and PCB layouts, with an emphasis on providing EMC design advice to hardware engineers.
- Experience with EMC standards, measurements, data analysis, and hands-on troubleshooting at both the chassis and board levels, including familiarity with EMC spectrum analyzers and receivers.
Nice to have
- Experience with design tools, particularly Allegro PCB layout software, is advantageous.
- Previous involvement in compliance programs within the technology sector can be beneficial.
- Familiarity with international regulatory requirements and certification processes may enhance your candidacy.

Practical notes
The anticipated total annual compensation for this position ranges from $275,000 to $450,000, which includes base salary, bonuses, and equity options. The base salary for this role is projected to be between $150,000 and $190,000, influenced by factors such as experience and skill level.
