PayPay Securities is seeking a dedicated Automation QA Engineer to join our team in Tokyo. What you'll do

• Analyze detailed testing requirements and develop comprehensive testing scenarios based on project specifications and business needs.
• Design, create, and maintain automated test scripts for mobile applications, web applications, and APIs, ensuring they align with functional and non-functional specifications.
• Perform manual testing when automation is not feasible or to supplement automated test coverage, ensuring thorough validation of features.
• Execute automated test cases regularly, review test results, and document any defects or issues found during testing cycles.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve issues identified during testing phases.
• Continuously improve automation frameworks by integrating new tools, updating existing scripts, and optimizing test execution processes for efficiency.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to enhance test design, automate repetitive tasks, and increase overall productivity.
• Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on automation scripts and testing methodologies to ensure best practices are followed.
• Support the integration of automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, such as GitHub Actions, to facilitate continuous testing and deployment workflows.
• Contribute to knowledge sharing within the team by documenting testing procedures, creating training materials, and mentoring junior team members.
• Stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in test automation, especially within the financial services industry, to keep our testing practices current and effective.
• Assist in defining testing standards and quality metrics to measure the effectiveness of automation efforts.
• Work within a collaborative environment that encourages innovation, continuous learning, and process improvement.
• Engage in regular communication with cross-functional teams to ensure testing aligns with project timelines and quality expectations.
• Support the onboarding of new tools and technologies that can enhance our testing capabilities, including AI-powered solutions.

Requirements

• 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in creating, executing, and maintaining automated tests for mobile applications, web applications, or APIs.
• Proven experience with automation tools such as Appium for mobile testing and Rest Assured for API testing.
• Strong programming skills in Java, including the ability to write, debug, and optimize code for automation scripts.
• Familiarity with testing frameworks like TestNG or JUnit to organize and run automated tests efficiently.
• Experience with CI/CD tools, particularly GitHub Actions, to integrate automated testing into deployment pipelines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Japanese, with proficiency at JLPT N2 level or equivalent.
• Ability to analyze test results, troubleshoot issues, and propose effective solutions to improve testing coverage and reliability.
• Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and experience working in collaborative team environments.
• Understanding of the financial or securities industry is a plus, especially familiarity with stock trading systems or related financial products.
• Ability to adapt to new tools and technologies quickly and effectively.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail to ensure high-quality testing outcomes.
• Willingness to learn and stay current with emerging trends in test automation and AI-assisted development.

Nice to have

• Experience with Selenium WebDriver for web application testing and Cucumber for behavior-driven development (BDD) test management.
• Background in financial services, particularly in stock trading or securities, providing domain-specific knowledge beneficial for testing financial applications.
• Familiarity with other CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or Bitrise to support automated deployment processes.
• Knowledge of AI-powered engineering tools that assist in software testing and development, enhancing automation efficiency.
• Certification such as ISTQB or equivalent, demonstrating formal knowledge of testing principles and practices.
• Experience working in a regulated environment with compliance requirements related to financial data and security.
