This position will require you to partner with engineers, designers, and other quality assurance experts to develop a organizational structure. Your contributions will be vital in shaping the future of asset management in Japan, particularly for users who are just beginning their journey in this field.

What you'll do

• Lead the weekly testing cycles for software releases, which includes planning, executing tests, tracking progress, analyzing outcomes, and reporting on both functional and non-functional testing results.
• Oversee roadmap initiatives, ensuring adherence to the software testing life cycle (STLC) by crafting comprehensive test plans, defining the scope of tests, and monitoring testing progress to ensure high software quality.
• Prepare all necessary test data, tools, and environments to facilitate effective testing processes.
• Document and track defects meticulously, keeping an eye on their status and confirming resolutions.
• Work closely with QA Engineers to design, create, and review test cases that align with project specifications.
• Maintain and regularly update master test cases in conjunction with automation QA initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that quality assurance is integrated into the development process from the outset.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior QA team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and learning.
• Analyze testing metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement, and report these findings to stakeholders.
• Participate in project planning meetings to provide insights on quality assurance timelines and resource allocation.
• Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in QA methodologies to continuously enhance the testing processes.

Requirements

• A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a QA Lead or QA Manager position, or over 5 years of experience as a QA Engineer or Tester.
• Strong ability to comprehend and analyze technical specifications, with hands-on experience in test planning and defining the scope of tests for creating effective test cases.
• In-depth knowledge of QA methodologies and tools, including but not limited to ALM, TestRail, TestLink, QASymphony, and Zephyr.
• Familiarity with test automation tools and processes, such as Appium, Selenium, UFT, Load Runner, and Cucumber.
• Exceptional organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and strong problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
• Proficiency in Japanese at a business level (native speaker or JLPT N1 equivalent).

Nice to have

• Previous experience in quality assurance within the securities or finance sector, especially related to online trading services.
• Familiarity with testing mobile applications across both Android and iOS platforms.
• ISTQB certification or a similar qualification in quality assurance.
• Background in fast-paced IT or web development environments, with Agile methodology experience being advantageous.
• Experience in standardizing QA processes and methodologies, along with a proactive approach to proposing improvements.
• Experience in integrating new QA tools into existing testing processes.
• Collaborative experience working with other teams and external vendors on projects.
• Understanding of in-house service operations and their QA requirements.

Skills & tools
