Business Development Representative
Job description
About the role
You are a driven, curious, and disciplined BDR based in LATAM who helps Overview.ai expand its U.S. manufacturing footprint. You will own the end-to-end early-stage engagement by identifying real inspection use cases and disqualifying bad-fit opportunities quickly. Your work will focus on quality conversations that generate genuine pipeline rather than vanity metrics. You will act as the critical filter that ensures our Vision Sales Engineers only engage prospects with meaningful problems our technology can solve. This role requires comfort with ambiguity and the ability to learn technical concepts fast while maintaining rigorous standards for opportunity qualification. You will be the primary voice for U.S. manufacturing prospects, representing Overview.ai with clarity and professionalism.
Key facts
What you'll do
Identify and engage manufacturing prospects across the United States, including automotive suppliers, electronics manufacturers, industrial OEMs, food & beverage producers, and other high-volume production environments using phone, email, LinkedIn, and creative outbound strategies.
Map the decision-makers for each target by finding the Quality or Engineering owner, such as a Quality Manager, Manufacturing Engineer, or Operations Lead, and locating them on LinkedIn to craft tailored outreach based on inspection challenges solved for similar companies.
Lead with curiosity to uncover the real blocker, whether it is cost, downtime, or false positives in current systems, and get specific about why inspection is hard for them.
Qualify ruthlessly by asking good questions and thinking critically about opportunity fit, measuring yourself on the quality of qualification rather than activity, because bad meetings hurt the team and good ones compound.
Partner with Vision Sales Engineers by handing off clean, actionable insights once a genuine use case is identified and staying in the loop to learn what worked and what did not.
Keep HubSpot meticulously clean with consistent data, clear activity logs, and detailed notes so that future conversations remain smooth and informed.
Continuously refine messaging by testing approaches, tracking what resonates with prospects, and sharing learnings quickly with the team so we can iterate fast.
Requirements
You must have prior outbound sales experience in roles such as BDR, SDR, or inside sales, or an equivalent background that demonstrates consistent prospect engagement and pipeline generation.
You must possess strong phone skills and proven outbound instincts, including comfort with initiating conversations, handling objections, and maintaining momentum across virtual interactions.
You must be comfortable operating in ambiguity and figuring things out quickly, adapting your approach when processes are unclear and information is incomplete.
You must show high curiosity and a willingness to learn technical concepts, such as computer vision and edge inference, even if you do not have a technical background initially.
You must be able to ask good questions and think critically about opportunity fit, distinguishing between real production challenges and hypothetical interest.
You must be organized, reliable, and accountable, following through on commitments and maintaining structured records of every interaction.
You must be fluent in professional-level English, both written and verbal, since you will be the primary voice communicating with U.S. manufacturing prospects.
You must be based in LATAM with the ability to work U.S. business hours consistently, ensuring reliable overlap for live conversations with prospects and cross-functional partners.
Nice to have
Manufacturing, SaaS, or technical sales background that provides exposure to complex sales cycles and stakeholder management.
Experience with HubSpot, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and Nooks, which would help you manage pipelines, research accounts, and maintain clean data.
A basic understanding of production processes or quality control, such as how inspection fits into broader manufacturing workflows.
Prior experience selling into or supporting U.S. markets specifically, which can shorten the learning curve when engaging stateside prospects.
Familiarity with U.S. industrial and manufacturing culture and business norms, enabling smoother communication and expectation alignment.
Practical notes
This role operates remotely from anywhere in LATAM with consistent availability during U.S. Eastern or Central business hours.
You are expected to maintain strict professionalism in all written and verbal communication with prospects and internal stakeholders.
Regular team syncs and feedback sessions will be part of the cadence to ensure alignment with company goals and evolving strategies.
Opportunities will be handled on a first-responsibility basis, with clear handoffs to sales and engineering teams when technical evaluations are required.
Continuous improvement is encouraged, and you should document patterns in objections, outcomes, and insights to support company-wide learning.
This position is critical to building a scalable go-to-market motion for Overview.ai in North America while ensuring that every prospect interaction reflects the accuracy, speed, and operational excellence our product delivers.
