About the role

This role owns the end-to-end creation of web tools and GenAI applications that transform Overview's edge-AI vision platform into daily-use products for both customers and internal teams. You will build and iterate on LLM-powered assistants, synthetic data generation pipelines, and agent-style workflow builders that sit directly on top of the vision system. The position requires full-stack ownership from a React/TypeScript interface down to Python services and APIs. You will rapidly prototype tools, ship them into production, and refine them based on direct user feedback in a small, high-autonomy team. The role emphasizes leveraging AI to build internal tools while measuring impact through outcomes rather than activity.

What you'll do

Develop LLM-powered tools including AI copilots, expert assistants for documentation and guided consultation, and synthetic training-data generation pipelines.

Build and own full-stack web tools using React and TypeScript for the frontend and Python for backend services and APIs, covering customer-facing products and internal utilities.

Rapidly prototype new tools from initial idea to shipped product, then iterate based on real usage patterns and user feedback.

Integrate tools with Overview's edge-AI stack, including the camera fleet, inference outputs, recipes, and firmware, ensuring functionality against real inspection data.

Write code that prioritizes performance, reliability, and user experience, ensuring tools feel fast, clear, and trustworthy for operators and customers.

Design and implement agent-style workflow builders and node-based or flow-builder UIs to enable non-technical users to configure inspection logic.

Create utilities such as optics calculators, recipe analysis tools, and log or telemetry tooling that simplify the operation of the vision platform.

Contribute to synthetic data generation frameworks that simulate inspection scenarios to improve model robustness and reduce real-data collection costs.

Collaborate closely with hardware and firmware teams to ensure web tools accurately reflect device capabilities and limitations in the field.

Champion quality practices including testability, maintainable architecture, and clear user feedback loops throughout the product lifecycle.

Drive product discovery by turning rough ideas into clickable prototypes and validating them with manufacturing teams on the factory floor.

Maintain and extend the Device Management Platform to monitor, configure, and update edge devices at scale with secure and reliable workflows.

Implement data visualization and debugging tools that help both customers and internal engineers understand inspection results and model behavior.

Continuously refine user interfaces based on usability testing and observational research in real production environments.

Explore and prototype new GenAI capabilities such as automated report generation, intelligent alert suppression, and guided troubleshooting assistants.

Requirements

4+ years building full-stack web applications with a proven track record of shipping products end-to-end at a Senior or Staff level.

Strong proficiency in React and TypeScript for building modern, polished web interfaces that are responsive and accessible.

Strong proficiency in Python for backend services, API design, and data or tooling work that integrates with AI systems.

Experience building LLM-powered or GenAI product features, including calling LLM APIs, prompt engineering, RAG implementations, or agent workflows.

A product mindset that focuses on user needs, makes good judgment calls under ambiguity, and can drive a tool from idea to shipped iteration without a detailed spec.

Professional experience with or a strong passion for using AI agent tools to architect solutions and solve difficult problems efficiently.

Ability to work autonomously in a small team, taking full ownership of problems and defining the technical approach without constant direction.

Comfortable navigating fast-moving priorities and shifting requirements while maintaining a high standard of code and product quality.

Nice to have

Hands-on experience with RAG infrastructure, vector databases, or agent-orchestration frameworks.

Experience with node-based or flow-builder UIs, data visualization, or design systems for consistent user interfaces.

Familiarity with computer vision, manufacturing, or industrial automation domains to better align tools with operational realities.

Docker and cloud deployment experience to streamline development and production workflows.
