Key facts
What you'll do
- Lead the DataLake engineering team, focusing on the design, implementation, and optimization of data architecture and infrastructure.
- Collaborate with product managers and other stakeholders to define data requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of data pipelines, ensuring high availability and performance of data systems.
- Implement best practices for data governance, security, and compliance across all data processes.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by mentoring team members and promoting skill development.
- Drive the adoption of modern data technologies and methodologies to enhance data processing and analytics capabilities.
- Monitor and analyze system performance metrics, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues.
- Coordinate with other engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of data services with existing applications and platforms.
- Develop and manage project timelines, ensuring timely delivery of data initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with senior leadership to report on project progress, challenges, and opportunities for growth.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience in managing data platforms and data engineering teams.
- Strong proficiency in data technologies such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure, along with experience in data warehousing solutions.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala, and experience with SQL databases.
- Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data governance principles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka.
- Knowledge of machine learning frameworks and data science practices.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools for CI/CD pipelines.
- Previous experience in the healthcare or SaaS industry is a plus.
