What you'll do

• Lead the DataLake engineering team, focusing on the design, implementation, and optimization of data architecture and infrastructure.
• Collaborate with product managers and other stakeholders to define data requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Oversee the development and maintenance of data pipelines, ensuring high availability and performance of data systems.
• Implement best practices for data governance, security, and compliance across all data processes.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement by mentoring team members and promoting skill development.
• Drive the adoption of modern data technologies and methodologies to enhance data processing and analytics capabilities.
• Monitor and analyze system performance metrics, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues.
• Coordinate with other engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of data services with existing applications and platforms.
• Develop and manage project timelines, ensuring timely delivery of data initiatives.
• Communicate effectively with senior leadership to report on project progress, challenges, and opportunities for growth.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Proven experience in managing data platforms and data engineering teams.
• Strong proficiency in data technologies such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure, along with experience in data warehousing solutions.
• Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala, and experience with SQL databases.
• Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data governance principles.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka.
• Knowledge of machine learning frameworks and data science practices.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools for CI/CD pipelines.
• Previous experience in the healthcare or SaaS industry is a plus.
