What you'll do

• Design and develop scalable APIs that integrate with various Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, ensuring high performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define API specifications and architecture that meet business needs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to API performance, security, and scalability, ensuring optimal user experience.
• Implement best practices for API development, including documentation, versioning, and testing to maintain high code quality.
• Work closely with clients to understand their integration requirements and provide technical support during the implementation phase.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and methodologies.
• Monitor API usage and performance metrics, making data-driven decisions to enhance functionality and user satisfaction.
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies related to APIs and healthcare technology to inform product development.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on API design and development best practices.
• Collaborate with the security team to ensure that all APIs comply with healthcare regulations and data protection standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on API design and integration.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or Node.js, with a solid understanding of RESTful and GraphQL API principles.
• Experience with API management tools and platforms, such as Postman, Swagger, or Apigee.
• Familiarity with healthcare standards such as HL7, FHIR, or DICOM is highly desirable.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment, with a focus on continuous integration and delivery practices.

Nice to have

• Previous experience in the healthcare technology sector or working with EHR systems.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, particularly in relation to API deployment and management.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks and tools for APIs.

• Knowledge of database technologies, including SQL and NoSQL databases.
