You will act as the primary technical guardian for n8n's most strategic customers, ensuring their deployments remain robust, future-proof, and deeply aligned with the platform's vision. This role requires you to translate high-level business goals into concrete technical execution plans that drive platform stability and adoption. You will serve as the architectural conscience for customer deployments, challenging assumptions and safeguarding against technical debt before it forms. You are expected to become a fluent expert in the n8n ecosystem, leveraging that knowledge to de-risk complex implementations and champion long-term best practices. Success in this position means you are not just responding to tickets but proactively engineering resilience into customer environments. Ultimately, you will own the narrative of reliability and performance for our top-tier partners, ensuring their growth does not come at the cost of operational fragility.

What you'll do
Orchestrate the technical lifecycle for strategic top-tier accounts, from initial handoff through maturity optimization and renewal expansion.
Perform in-depth technical discovery sessions to map customer workflows, infrastructure, and compliance requirements to the n8n platform.
Architect and define the target state for customer deployments, ensuring alignment with n8n scalability and performance benchmarks.
Lead the design of containerized and cloud-native deployment models, including Docker and Kubernetes architectures for production resilience.
Evaluate and optimize customer workflows to eliminate bottlenecks, reduce execution latency, and improve resource utilization.
Implement monitoring and observability frameworks to provide clear visibility into workflow execution, error rates, and system health.
Guide customers through major version upgrades and infrastructure migrations with minimal operational disruption.
Collaborate with Product and Engineering to translate complex customer use cases into actionable product requirements and enhancements.
Conduct technical workshops and code reviews to elevate the quality and maintainability of customer-built automations.
Own the escalation resolution path for critical incidents, driving cross-functional coordination to restore service and prevent recurrence.
Analyze platform usage telemetry to identify underutilized features and opportunities for workflow consolidation or optimization.
Develop and maintain detailed runbooks and technical documentation for customer environments to ensure continuity and knowledge transfer.
Champion security and governance standards, ensuring customer data handling and storage meet enterprise compliance expectations.
Proactively identify technical risks in customer workflows and recommend architectural refactors to improve stability and maintainability.
Establish a feedback loop with the Product team to influence the n8n roadmap based on real-world enterprise demands and constraints.
Requirements
You must possess a deep reservoir of experience and technical judgment that qualifies you for this highly responsible role.
You have a proven track record in Technical Account Management, Solutions Architecture, or a closely related customer engineering discipline.
You understand distributed systems theory and how it applies to modern cloud-native applications and integration platforms.
You have hands-on experience diagnosing and resolving performance, reliability, and scalability issues in production environments.
You can communicate intricate technical concepts clearly to both technical engineers and executive business stakeholders.
You are highly experienced in managing stakeholder expectations and building trust with senior technical leaders.
You have a strong background in DevOps practices, including infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud service models.
You are comfortable working directly with container orchestration platforms like Docker and Kubernetes in production contexts.
You understand the operational implications of running stateful services and high-availability architectures.
You are fluent in analyzing logs, metrics, and traces to drive incident response and capacity planning decisions.
Nice to have
You bring at least 6 months of direct experience working with n8n or comparable low-code automation platforms in production environments.
You have managed integrations with SaaS platforms using REST APIs, webhooks, and authentication protocols like OAuth.
You have experience with database interactions, message queues, and event-driven architectures in integration scenarios.
You understand infrastructure monitoring tools and observability stacks such as Prometheus, Grafana, or similar platforms.
You have worked with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi in automated deployment scenarios.
You are familiar with security and compliance frameworks relevant to enterprise data handling, such as GDPR or SOC 2 considerations.
You have experience contributing to open-source projects or engaging with community-driven development workflows.
You understand software development lifecycle practices, including version control, pull requests, and collaborative code review.
Practical notes
This role is based in our Berlin office, requiring consistent presence during standard business hours for stakeholder collaboration and incident response.
Travel may be required to support key enterprise customers or industry events that strengthen our community presence.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Germany without sponsorship requirements.
