Mixpanel is hiring a Lifecycle Marketing Manager to join their growing team in San Francisco. This role focuses on managing marketing campaigns that guide users through different stages of their journey with the product, from initial sign-up through long-term active usage. The manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to improve user retention, activation, and overall engagement using data-driven strategies and automation. The position operates in a hybrid format, requiring time spent both in the San Francisco office and working from home on designated days, and the manager plays a critical part in ensuring every user interaction moves toward long-term product adoption.

What you'll do
Design and execute email campaigns that nurture users from sign-up through long-term retention and advocacy
Develop automated messaging sequences triggered by specific user behavior events within the Mixpanel product
Collaborate with product teams to identify key moments in the user lifecycle that drive meaningful value
Analyze campaign performance data to optimize open rates, click-through rates, and overall conversion metrics
Segment audiences based on usage patterns, demographics, and engagement levels to personalize messaging at scale
Create compelling content and copy tailored to different stages of the customer journey and funnel
Coordinate with design and engineering teams to implement tracking, personalization features, and campaign infrastructure
Manage A/B testing frameworks to systematically improve campaign effectiveness across multiple communication channels
Report on lifecycle marketing metrics and present actionable insights to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
Maintain and evolve the marketing automation infrastructure that supports all user communication and outreach
Build onboarding email series that help new users understand and adopt core product features quickly
Partner with the sales team to create nurture campaigns for leads in the middle of the funnel
Monitor deliverability and inbox placement rates to ensure campaigns reach users effectively
Evaluate and refine customer journey maps to identify gaps and improvement opportunities in the lifecycle
Requirements
Experience managing lifecycle or email marketing campaigns in a B2B SaaS environment for at least three years
Demonstrated familiarity with marketing automation platforms and audience segmentation strategies in a professional setting
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret campaign data and derive actionable improvement recommendations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for crafting compelling, clear, and effective user-facing messages
Ability to work cross-functionally with product, engineering, and design teams in a fast-paced environment
Solid understanding of product analytics concepts and user behavior patterns that inform marketing decisions
Track record of improving user retention or activation metrics through targeted and well-executed campaigns
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in marketing, communications, or a related discipline
Nice to have
Experience working at a product analytics or data-driven software company is highly valuable for this role
Knowledge of SQL or basic data querying for campaign analysis and reporting purposes is a plus
Prior hands-on experience with Mixpanel or comparable product analytics platforms is strongly preferred by the team
Experience managing marketing campaigns across multiple channels including push notifications and in-app messages is beneficial
Understanding of CRM systems and customer lifecycle marketing frameworks is a strong advantage

Marketing automation platforms such as Braze, Iterable, or similar tools for campaign execution
Solid proficiency in email marketing and campaign management software for daily operations
Proficiency in data analysis and audience segmentation techniques for marketing optimization
Experience with A/B testing and experimentation methodologies for ongoing campaign improvement
Working knowledge of product analytics and user behavior tracking concepts and frameworks
Strong copywriting and content creation skills for digital marketing channels and formats
Familiarity with customer relationship management and user database platforms for campaign targeting

This is a hybrid role based in San Francisco with a mix of in-office and remote work days each week
The position reports directly to the marketing leadership team at Mixpanel in San Francisco
