About the role
Martinconcrete is seeking a Project Engineer to join the Critical Projects Group in Kennesaw, Georgia. This full-time position involves managing and overseeing concrete construction projects from initial planning through final completion. The role requires coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget. The Project Engineer will serve as a key technical resource for complex and high-priority assignments within the organization.

What you'll do
- Manage concrete construction projects from initial planning through final completion and delivery
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure project deliverables are met on time
- Review project drawings, specifications, and schedules to verify accuracy and completeness before work begins
- Monitor project progress regularly and identify potential delays or issues before they become serious problems
- Prepare and present detailed project status reports to leadership and external clients on a regular basis
- Ensure all construction work meets established quality standards and complies with applicable safety regulations
- Support cost estimation activities and track project budgets to maintain financial control across assignments
- Facilitate clear communication between field crews and project management to keep work flowing smoothly
- Conduct regular site visits to assess construction progress and resolve any field-level issues directly
- Maintain thorough project documentation and ensure all records are properly organized and easily accessible
- Assist with resource allocation and crew scheduling to support efficient project execution across multiple sites
- Help develop detailed project timelines and milestones in close coordination with senior project leads
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in engineering or a closely related technical discipline from an accredited institution
- Have prior experience working on construction or civil engineering projects in a professional setting
- Demonstrate strong understanding of concrete materials, mix designs, and standard construction methods and practices
- Be able to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering specifications with confidence
- Possess effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with clients and project stakeholders
- Show demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and prioritize tasks effectively under pressure
- Have proficiency with project management software and standard office productivity tools for daily work
- Be willing to travel to project sites as needed and work in varying field conditions
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative engineering team in a fast-paced environment
Nice to have
- Experience with precast concrete systems or reinforced concrete installation in commercial or industrial settings
- Familiarity with local building codes, zoning regulations, and permitting processes in the state of Georgia
- Previous work history in a concrete, masonry, or similar construction materials company is valued
- Knowledge of scheduling software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project for project planning
