What you'll do
- Lead and manage multiple construction projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to timelines and budget constraints.
- Develop comprehensive project plans that outline scope, objectives, and deliverables, and communicate these plans to all stakeholders.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure all project specifications and requirements are met.
- Monitor project progress and performance, implementing corrective actions as necessary to address any issues that arise.
- Conduct regular site visits to assess work quality, safety compliance, and overall project status, providing feedback to teams as needed.
- Prepare and present project updates to clients and upper management, ensuring transparency and alignment on project goals.
- Manage project budgets, including tracking expenses and preparing financial reports to ensure fiscal responsibility.
- Foster a collaborative team environment by promoting open communication and resolving conflicts among team members.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and vendors to enhance project success and company reputation.
- Mentor and guide junior project team members, sharing knowledge and best practices to support their professional development.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in project management within the construction industry.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale construction projects from start to finish.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, methodologies, and best practices.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools, such as Microsoft Project, Primavera, or similar applications.
- Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards relevant to construction projects.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Nice to have
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
- Experience with Lean Construction principles and methodologies.
- Familiarity with sustainable building practices and green construction certifications.
- Previous experience in a client-facing role, particularly in managing client relationships.
- Bilingual abilities, particularly in Spanish, are a plus.
