About the role
You will own the end to end implementation of the Khan Academy programme within the government school system of Uttar Pradesh, translating strategic goals into actionable field plans. You will act as the primary liaison between the state administration and the Khan Academy India teams, ensuring alignment and timely execution. This role demands ownership of complex stakeholder dynamics and the ability to drive change in a large bureaucratic environment. You will be responsible for building the capacity of mentors and teachers so that the platform is used effectively in classrooms and by students at home. Ultimately, you will be the implementation leader who ensures that learning outcomes improve through the thoughtful use of data and insights.

What you'll do
Drive the strategic implementation of the Khan Academy learning platform across government schools in Uttar Pradesh in close partnership with the Department of School Education.
Take ownership of multiple work streams and deliver on pre-agreed goals while managing competing priorities and timelines in a fast-moving environment.
Deliver and support the delivery of training to education officials, program mentors, and administrative cadres on a regular and recurring basis.
Follow up on training implementation and unearth insights and challenges to strengthen the program for all teachers continuously.
Build and maintain strong relationships with nodal officers, state resource persons, district-level officers, and other school stakeholders to ensure smooth execution.
Gather data-backed insights and translate them into actionable recommendations that guide program decisions and improvements.
Manage knowledge effectively by ensuring that all state discussions, decisions, and learnings are documented and shared with relevant teams.
Conduct regular field visits of three to four times per week and maintain regular touchpoints with officers and teachers to generate practical insights from schools.
Use these insights to identify strategic levers that can increase adoption and deepen the usage of the Khan Academy platform across the state.
Collaborate closely with Khan Academy India's Content team to ensure that learning materials remain relevant and pedagogically sound for the Uttar Pradesh context.
Work hand in hand with Partner Operations to streamline processes, remove blockers, and ensure efficient coordination across internal and external stakeholders.
Support the Teacher Professional Development team in designing and executing capacity-building initiatives that enhance teacher confidence and skills.
Partner with the Data and Efficacy team to validate learning outcomes and demonstrate the impact of the program through rigorous analysis.
Act as a trusted advisor to the Regional Head, North, providing clear updates, risk assessments, and recommendations based on evidence from the field.
Champion the mission of providing free, world-class education by ensuring that teachers and students in Uttar Pradesh can fully leverage the Khan Academy platform.
Requirements
You must possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience that demonstrates a strong foundation in education, public policy, or a related field.
You must have proven experience in managing large scale programs or initiatives, ideally within the education or public sector space.
You must be comfortable working with government stakeholders and navigating complex administrative processes with patience and professionalism.
You must have strong written and verbal communication skills in English and at least one local language commonly used in Uttar Pradesh.
You must be able to travel frequently within Uttar Pradesh and stay overnight when required to support field visits and meetings.
You must be proficient in using digital tools for data management, communication, and collaboration in a remote or hybrid work setup.
You must be able to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a high standard of accountability and ownership.
You must be comfortable operating in a lean team environment where roles are fluid and responsibilities are distributed based on evolving needs.
Nice to have
Preferred experience in the education sector, particularly in roles that involved working with teachers or academic content.
Prior experience working with government departments or large scale public systems in India.
Familiarity with open educational resources and digital learning platforms.
Experience in data analysis or the use of simple dashboards to track program performance.
Practical notes
This role requires travel within Uttar Pradesh and occasional overnight stays as part of regular field visits.
Visa requirements are not applicable for this role as it is based in India for Indian candidates.
