About the role
Khan Academy is looking for a dedicated Training Lead focused on mathematics education to join their growing team in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. This role centers on designing, implementing, and overseeing training programs that help both educators and learners strengthen their math teaching abilities and conceptual understanding. The Training Lead will partner closely with the math content and curriculum teams to develop effective learning pathways, support materials, and assessment tools for a wide range of training initiatives. You will guide training strategies that reflect Khan Academy's core mission of delivering free, world-class education to anyone, anywhere, ensuring that every program meets high standards of quality and impact.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Lead the design and end-to-end delivery of math-focused training programs for both internal teams and external educational partners
- Collaborate closely with subject matter experts and curriculum developers to create comprehensive training materials and facilitator guides for math educators
- Monitor training program effectiveness by analyzing participant feedback, completion rates, and learning outcomes to drive continuous improvement
- Coach and mentor a team of trainers and facilitators who deliver math education workshops across multiple regions and formats
- Create interactive and engaging learning experiences that help participants build strong math teaching skills and deepen their subject knowledge
- Ensure all training content aligns with Khan Academy's math curriculum standards, educational best practices, and organizational learning objectives
- Manage training schedules, coordinate logistics, and handle cross-functional coordination across multiple teams, offices, and geographic regions
- Collect and synthesize feedback from training participants to iterate on content, format, and delivery methods to better meet learning goals
- Support the launch and adoption of new math tools, features, and platform updates through well-structured and targeted training sessions
- Establish and maintain partnerships with schools, districts, and educational organizations to broaden the reach and impact of math training programs
- Develop training documentation, progress reports, and performance dashboards to communicate program results to leadership and key stakeholders
- Identify gaps in existing training offerings and propose new program ideas that address emerging needs in math education
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience leading training programs, facilitation sessions, or educational workshops in a professional or academic environment
- Strong understanding of math concepts, teaching pedagogy, and curriculum design at the middle and high school levels
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex mathematical ideas clearly to diverse audiences
- Proven experience in curriculum development, instructional design, or creating educational content in either formal or informal settings
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent training projects, prioritize tasks effectively, and consistently meet established deadlines and milestones
- Comfort and proficiency with using digital learning platforms, educational technology tools, and virtual training delivery methods
- A bachelor's degree in education, mathematics, instructional design, or a closely related field is required for this position
- Willingness to travel occasionally to other Khan Academy offices, partner sites, or regional events as training needs arise
Nice to have
- Prior experience working at an education technology company, nonprofit organization, or learning-focused startup that serves K-12 students
- Familiarity with Khan Academy's platform, existing math content library, and the broader educational technology landscape
- Training certifications or formal credentials in instructional design, adult learning theory, educational psychology, or a related field
- Experience supporting multilingual, culturally diverse, or underserved learner populations in training and education program settings
Skills & tools
- Proficiency in learning management systems and online training delivery platforms for hosting and tracking educational programs
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite or Google Workspace for creating presentations, spreadsheets, and training documents
- Experience with data analysis and visualization tools to measure training impact, track learner progress, and report outcomes
- Solid understanding of math education standards, frameworks, and best practices commonly used in K-12 school environments
- Ability to effectively use video conferencing, screen sharing, and collaboration tools for both live and recorded training sessions
- Familiarity with content creation and authoring tools including presentation software, graphic design applications, and video editing platforms

- This role is based in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, and requires regular on-site presence at the Khan Academy office location
- The position reports directly to the math content leadership or training management team within Khan Academy's organizational structure
