What you'll do
- Lead and manage inspection teams on various construction and engineering projects, ensuring adherence to project specifications and quality standards.
- Conduct thorough inspections of materials, workmanship, and completed work to verify compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and documentation, highlighting any discrepancies or areas for improvement.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to address any quality-related issues and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Develop and maintain inspection protocols and procedures to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the inspection process.
- Train and mentor junior inspectors, providing guidance on best practices and industry standards.
- Participate in project meetings to provide insights on quality control measures and inspection findings.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and advancements in inspection technologies to continuously improve inspection processes.
- Ensure that all safety protocols are followed during inspections to maintain a safe working environment.
- Assist in the development of project schedules and budgets by providing accurate estimates of inspection time and resources required.
- Engage with clients to address any concerns related to inspections and provide expert advice on quality assurance.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of Kellerassociates' quality management systems and processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction inspection or quality assurance roles.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and relevant codes and standards.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in using inspection tools and software for reporting and documentation purposes.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify issues and recommend solutions promptly.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
Nice to have
- Certification from a recognized professional organization, such as the American Society for Quality (ASQ) or the International Code Council (ICC).
- Experience with specialized inspection techniques, such as non-destructive testing or environmental assessments.
- Familiarity with project management software and tools.
- Previous experience in a client-facing role, enhancing client relationships and satisfaction.
