Key facts
What you'll do
- Design and develop electrical systems and control strategies for a variety of projects, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate electrical systems into larger engineering projects, providing expertise in control systems and automation.
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to evaluate the viability of proposed electrical solutions and control systems.
- Create detailed technical documentation, including specifications, schematics, and user manuals, to support project implementation and maintenance.
- Perform testing and troubleshooting of electrical and control systems to identify and resolve issues, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Provide technical support and guidance to project managers and field personnel during the installation and commissioning phases of projects.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in electrical engineering and control technologies, applying this knowledge to improve project outcomes.
- Participate in project meetings and presentations, effectively communicating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Mentor and support junior engineers and interns, fostering a collaborative learning environment within the team.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with project timelines and budgets, contributing to the overall success of Kellerassociates' projects.
- Engage in continuous professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge in electrical engineering and control systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on control systems and automation.
- Proficiency in industry-standard software tools for electrical design and simulation (e.g., AutoCAD, MATLAB, or similar).
- Strong understanding of electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Experience with PLC programming and HMI development is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for project site visits and client meetings.
Nice to have
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain one within a specified timeframe.
- Experience with renewable energy systems, such as solar or wind power.
- Familiarity with SCADA systems and industrial networking protocols.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices as they pertain to control systems.
- Previous experience in a consulting engineering environment.
