What you'll do

• Design and develop comprehensive wastewater treatment systems, including preliminary, primary, secondary, and tertiary treatment processes.
• Conduct hydraulic and process modeling to optimize system performance and efficiency.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, mechanical, and electrical engineers, to integrate various components of wastewater treatment facilities.
• Prepare detailed engineering reports, technical specifications, and design documentation for projects.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations governing wastewater treatment and discharge.
• Participate in the planning and execution of pilot studies and field investigations to assess treatment performance and feasibility.
• Provide technical support during the construction phase of projects, including troubleshooting and resolving design-related issues.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders to understand their needs and present design concepts and solutions effectively.
• Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices in wastewater treatment and environmental engineering.
• Mentor junior engineers and interns, fostering a culture of learning and professional development within the team.
• Assist in the preparation of proposals and bids for new projects, showcasing Kellerassociates' capabilities and expertise.
• Contribute to sustainability initiatives by identifying opportunities for resource recovery and energy efficiency in wastewater treatment processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in wastewater treatment design or a closely related area.
• Proficiency in engineering design software, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar tools.
• Strong understanding of wastewater treatment processes and technologies, including biological, chemical, and physical treatment methods.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and standards related to wastewater management.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated and capable of managing individual tasks.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain one within a specified timeframe.
• Experience with advanced treatment technologies, such as membrane bioreactors or nutrient recovery systems.
• Knowledge of sustainable design practices and green infrastructure principles.
• Familiarity with project management software and methodologies.
• Previous experience in client-facing roles or business development within the engineering sector.
