About the role
We are seeking a seasoned Oracle Cloud expert to spearhead a transformative implementation project for a prominent public sector client. This role involves owning the end-to-end functional delivery of a new Oracle Cloud Procurement and Supply Chain Management (SCM) environment, replacing a fragmented landscape of legacy applications. You will own the discovery, design, and configuration phases, ensuring that the new cloud solution aligns precisely with strategic client objectives for procurement and inventory operations. The successful candidate will act as the functional authority, bridging the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure a seamless transition to the cloud. What you'll do
- Lead comprehensive discovery workshops centered on the Oracle Procurement and Inventory modules to elicit detailed and accurate business requirements from stakeholders.
- Own the development, documentation, and validation of functional requirements that define the scope of configuration for the Self Service Procurement module.
- Drive the hands-on configuration of Oracle Procurement modules, taking primary responsibility for the setup and optimization of cloud-based processes.
- Manage and guide offshore build teams during development sprints, ensuring alignment with functional specifications and project timelines.
- Collaborate intensively with the technical architecture team to define system extensions and oversee unit testing to guarantee the quality and integrity of solutions.
- Aggregate, analyze, and communicate key Procurement and Inventory performance metrics, risks, and status updates to the Project Manager and client stakeholders.
- Direct and facilitate client knowledge transfer sessions, ensuring business readiness and validating that process changes are effectively adopted.
- Serve as the primary escalation contact for the client, defining the initial path for issue resolution and maintaining clear communication channels.
- Lead and orchestrate Conference Room Pilots (CRPs) to test configurations in a controlled environment and refine business processes based on feedback.
- Analyze issues identified during CRPs and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), developing resolutions to keep the project on schedule and within scope.
- Provide dedicated support for deployment activities and address production issues during the critical first 30 days following go-live to ensure stability.
- Champion the use of Oracle Cloud best practices to shape solution design and ensure the implementation leverages the platform's full capabilities.
- Act as a subject matter expert for the client, advising on procurement and inventory strategies that maximize the return on the cloud investment.
- Ensure all functional deliverables meet the stringent requirements of the public sector environment, including compliance and data governance standards.
Requirements
Candidates must meet the following hard bar requirements without exception.
- Possess a minimum of 10 years of cumulative experience with Oracle applications, demonstrating a deep and broad understanding of the technology stack.
- Hold proven expertise in Oracle Supply Chain Management, specifically within the domains of Inventory Management and Cost Management.
- Hold extensive, hands-on experience with Oracle Procurement, including Self Service Procurement, Supplier Management, Sourcing, Procurement Contracts, Supplier Qualification Management, and Purchasing.
- Demonstrate a proven ability to conduct discovery sessions, translate business needs into functional documentation, and configure Oracle Cloud applications accordingly.
- Show the capability to work effectively with technical teams, collaborating on system specifications and validating changes through rigorous testing protocols.
- Exhibit the willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of the time to facilitate client workshops and actively participate in Conference Room Pilot (CRP) engagements.
- Have a successful track record of delivering Oracle Cloud SCM implementations, particularly within public sector contexts.
