You will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, developing manufacturing processes, and ensuring the timely delivery of parts needed for new product introductions. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, strong communication skills, and the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and quality standards.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Collaborate with the Research and Development team to identify, evaluate, and select suppliers for new product launches, ensuring they meet technical and quality requirements.
- Manage the Plan for Every Part (PFEP) within the New Product Introduction (NPI) Bill of Materials (BOM), overseeing supplier selection, negotiation, and contract execution to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality standards are met.
- Serve as a technical liaison to facilitate clear communication of requirements between suppliers and internal engineering teams, ensuring that specifications are understood and adhered to.
- Conduct research on emerging manufacturing technologies, market trends, and supplier capabilities to develop effective supply chain strategies that support product innovation and scalability.
- Identify potential supply risks early in the process, develop mitigation plans, and negotiate with suppliers to address issues related to quality, delivery, and cost.
- Lead the development and qualification of supplier manufacturing processes, ensuring readiness for production and design changes, and monitor ongoing supplier performance.
- Conduct cost modeling and estimation for new product components to support budgeting and pricing strategies.
- Work closely with suppliers and contract manufacturers to coordinate material procurement, ensuring that parts are available on schedule for NPI builds.
- Prepare clear-to-build reports prior to NPI builds, providing detailed updates on material availability, lead times, and program costs, and communicate these to senior leadership.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers to enhance quality, reduce costs, and improve delivery performance.
- Support quality assurance activities by participating in supplier audits, reviewing process control plans, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and company specifications.
- Maintain detailed documentation of supplier interactions, process developments, and quality issues to support ongoing supplier development and audits.
Requirements
- 1-5 years of experience in strategic sourcing, manufacturing, or supplier quality engineering, preferably within a high-tech or manufacturing environment.
- A bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Willingness to travel internationally up to 20% for supplier audits, relationship management, and process development activities.
- Strong presentation, written, and verbal communication skills to effectively convey technical and business information.
- Experience in developing process quality plans, conducting supplier quality audits, and implementing yield improvement initiatives.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T specifications, and technical documentation.
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes, supply chain management, and quality assurance standards.
- Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and work in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to have
- Experience with 3D CAD design, especially Solidworks, to better understand product design and manufacturing considerations.
- At least 2 years of experience working with electronics, including reading schematics and understanding electronic components.
- Advanced skills in spreadsheet applications, including data analysis and modeling.
- Knowledge of ITAR regulations and compliance requirements related to international sourcing and manufacturing.
- Experience working with contract manufacturers and managing global supply chains.

Compensation
The annual salary for this position ranges from $75,000 to $111,000 USD, depending on experience, skills, and the specific qualifications of the candidate. In addition to base salary, all full-time employees receive equity compensation in the form of RSUs, allowing you to share in the company's success and growth over time.
