You will be responsible for identifying and setting up intricate 3D prints, capturing the mesmerizing process of additive manufacturing through high-quality video and photography. The position requires you to translate highly technical engineering jargon and CAD models into visually compelling and easily digestible content for a broad audience. You will manage the full content pipeline, from ideation and asset creation to editing, optimization, and final publishing across multiple social channels. A significant portion of your impact will come from analyzing performance metrics to continuously refine your storytelling approach and maximize engagement. Ultimately, you will act as a vital bridge between Form Labs' cutting-edge technology and the global maker community.
Location and Commitment
The position is based onsite in Somerville, Massachusetts. It requires a full-time commitment of 40 hours per week for the Fall 2026 term, running from September 14 to December 18, 2026.
Compensation
The internship offers a salaried rate of $24.00 per hour.
What you'll do
- Conceptualize and execute a high volume of trend-driven video content, managing every phase from initial idea to polished publication.
- Independently operate Form Labs industrial 3D printing systems, setting up complex prints and ensuring flawless execution for cinematic footage.
- Film intricate and detailed printing processes using specialized equipment to capture the dramatic and visually unique aspects of additive manufacturing.
- Edit high-energy, short-form video sequences for platforms like TikTok and Instagram Reels, applying advanced techniques in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, and Final Cut Pro.
- Perform rigorous data analysis on content performance, using insights to iterate on future videos and optimize for maximum reach and audience engagement.
- Collaborate seamlessly with a larger social media team to ensure all content aligns with broad marketing objectives and brand guidelines.
- Translate highly technical engineering achievements and physical parts into relatable visual stories that balance entertainment with professional credibility.
- Constantly monitor cultural trends and viral audio, rapidly producing timely content that resonates deeply with the global maker and creator community.
- Navigate digital platforms including TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube, and LinkedIn with intuitive fluency to optimize content for each specific audience.
- Maintain a self-starting workflow, moving multiple projects from concept to finished export while expertly managing competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Leverage a genuine curiosity for physical making and tinkering to ask insightful questions and uncover unique angles for storytelling.
- Utilize hands-on experience with 3D design and printing to add an authentic layer of credibility and depth to the content you produce.
- Develop a deep intuitive understanding of how devices function, allowing you to explain complex processes in a simple and engaging manner.
- Proactively identify opportunities to highlight Form Labs' technology through coverage of printed prototypes, functional parts, and key engineering milestones.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must possess expert-level proficiency in video editing software, including but not limited to Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, and Apple Final Cut Pro. You must demonstrate a genuine curiosity about the physical world, including how devices are made and function, which is essential for authentic storytelling. Intuitive navigation of major digital platforms such as TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube, and LinkedIn is a strict requirement for this position. You must excel at converting complex applications and technical specifications into compelling narratives that balance high entertainment value with strict professionalism. A self-starting mentality is non-negotiable, enabling you to independently move ideas from concept to a finished export while managing multiple deadlines simultaneously. The role requires the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where organizational skills and time management are critical. You must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship for this internship term. You must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program or have recently graduated within the past year.
