Form Labs is hiring a Services Engineer to join their team in Budapest, Hungary. This role focuses on providing technical support and service for Form Labs 3D printing systems used by customers across various industries including healthcare, manufacturing, and education. The engineer will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting equipment to ensure reliable operation and consistent customer satisfaction. The position involves working closely with clients and internal teams to resolve technical issues and optimize the performance of additive manufacturing platforms, playing a vital part in keeping Form Labs products running at peak capability throughout their lifecycle.
Key facts
What you'll do
Install and configure Form Labs 3D printers at customer sites or in service centers across the region.
Perform routine maintenance and preventive service on additive manufacturing equipment to ensure consistent print quality.
Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues affecting Form Labs printing systems in a timely manner.
Train end users and customer teams on proper operation, material handling, and basic troubleshooting procedures.
Document service activities, equipment status, and resolution steps in internal tracking systems for future reference.
Collaborate with the product and engineering teams to relay field feedback and identify recurring technical problems.
Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate logistics for replacement components needed during service visits.
Travel to customer locations within the assigned territory as required to deliver on-site support.
Uphold all safety protocols and company standards when working with industrial 3D printing hardware and materials.
Contribute to continuous improvement by suggesting process optimizations and service workflow enhancements based on field experience.
Coordinate with the logistics team to schedule service appointments and manage customer communication around planned maintenance windows.
Stay current with product updates, firmware releases, and service bulletins issued by Form Labs to ensure knowledge remains up to date.
Requirements
Demonstrated experience working with 3D printing or additive manufacturing equipment in a professional or service capacity.
Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including assembly, calibration, and basic repair of precision instruments.
Familiarity with digital fabrication workflows and the ability to troubleshoot print-related issues across multiple material types.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with customers and documenting technical findings clearly.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as part of regular service duties and on-site visits.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team in a fast-paced environment.
Technical education or certification in a relevant field such as engineering, applied sciences, or a related discipline.
Problem-solving mindset with the capacity to diagnose complex issues under pressure and find practical solutions.
Nice to have
Prior experience supporting products in the dental, jewelry, or manufacturing sectors where Form Labs systems are commonly deployed.
Knowledge of photopolymer materials and resin handling procedures specific to stereolithography and digital light processing technologies.
Familiarity with networked equipment and basic IT troubleshooting for connected devices and software platforms.
Previous role in a customer-facing or field service capacity that involved direct interaction with end users.
Skills & tools
Proficiency with 3D printing hardware including Form Labs Form series printers and associated peripherals.
Experience with diagnostic and calibration tools used for precision alignment and performance testing of additive systems.
Comfort with basic software interfaces for printer configuration, file preparation, and print monitoring dashboards.
Understanding of material science fundamentals related to resins, build platforms, and consumable components in digital fabrication.
Ability to use service management or ticketing software for tracking work orders and customer interactions.
General competence with office productivity and documentation tools for maintaining service records and reports.

This position is based in Budapest, Hungary, with the expectation of regular on-site presence at the office and customer locations.
