Key facts
What you'll do
- Innovate new 3D printing methodologies, including the development of advanced printer architectures and the validation of precise adjustments in Galvo control systems.
- Engage in exploratory research to assess and integrate new technologies into our existing processes.
- Address intricate and open-ended challenges that span multiple engineering disciplines, applying a systems-thinking approach.
- Conduct experiments and analyze results to guide enhancements in both software and hardware components.
- Assess the performance of current printers, identifying opportunities for optimization and improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to implement enhancements to existing products, such as redesigning algorithms for support structures based on experimental findings.
- Design and build test fixtures to facilitate experimental setups and data collection.
- Maintain a portfolio or website showcasing your previous projects and contributions to the field.
Requirements
- A strong analytical mindset that questions assumptions and supports conclusions with data.
- Proven experience in experimental design and data analysis to inform engineering decisions.
- Proficiency in designing and constructing test fixtures for experimental purposes.
- Familiarity with programming and scientific computing, with a preference for languages such as Python or Matlab.
- Knowledge of mechanical design principles, mechatronics, and CAD modeling tools.
- A degree in an engineering discipline, whether it be a B.S., M.S., or PhD, is required.

- Experience with manufacturing processes and compliance standards in sectors such as healthcare, pharmaceuticals, or life sciences.

Compensation
At Form Labs, we recognize that our employees are integral to our success, which is why we offer a competitive compensation package that includes equity in the form of RSUs. The annual base salary for this position ranges from $90,000 to $120,000, depending on your skills, qualifications, experience, and the anticipated impact you will have on our organization.
