About the role
Form Labs is seeking a highly skilled Manager of SEC Reporting to oversee the company's external financial reporting processes. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely filing of financial statements, footnotes, MD&A, and other SEC disclosures in compliance with regulatory standards. The Manager will be responsible for managing the preparation of quarterly and annual reports, maintaining internal controls, and supporting the company's transition to a public reporting environment. This role requires a strong understanding of US GAAP, SEC regulations, and experience working within a fast-paced, high-growth organization. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of collaborating across multiple teams to uphold the integrity of financial reporting.

What you'll do
- Lead the end-to-end process of preparing quarterly and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with SEC requirements and US GAAP standards.
- Oversee the drafting, review, and filing of all SEC disclosures, including 10-Qs, 10-Ks, 8-Ks, and other required reports, ensuring adherence to deadlines and regulatory standards.
- Manage and optimize the use of financial reporting software platforms such as Workiva or ActiveDisclosure to improve efficiency, data integrity, and collaboration across teams.
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) and SOX compliance, ensuring all processes meet regulatory and company standards.
- Conduct technical accounting research on complex transactions, such as equity offerings, stock-based compensation, revenue recognition, and other areas relevant to SEC filings.
- Prepare and coordinate audit schedules, supporting external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits, and act as the primary point of contact for audit-related inquiries.
- Collaborate with the tax team and external tax advisors to support tax compliance and reporting, ensuring consistency between financial and tax disclosures.
- Stay current on evolving SEC regulations, accounting standards, and best practices in financial reporting, and communicate updates to relevant teams.
- Lead special projects aimed at improving financial reporting processes, automation, and operational efficiencies, including system upgrades and process documentation.
- Assist in the development and documentation of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure ongoing compliance and readiness for audits and regulatory reviews.
- Support the finance team with ad hoc reporting, analysis, and strategic initiatives related to SEC filings and financial disclosures.
- Provide training and guidance to junior team members and cross-functional partners involved in financial reporting activities.
- Monitor changes in SEC rules and US GAAP standards, assessing their impact on the company's reporting processes and implementing necessary adjustments.
- Ensure all filings are accurate, complete, and submitted within required deadlines, maintaining a high standard of quality and compliance.
Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years specifically in SEC reporting within a public company environment.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, SEC regulations (S-X and S-K), and the EDGAR filing process.
- Proven experience managing the preparation and review of SEC filings such as 10-Qs, 10-Ks, and 8-Ks.
- Familiarity with SOX compliance, internal controls, and internal audit processes related to financial reporting.
- Experience working with financial reporting software platforms such as Workiva or ActiveDisclosure is highly preferred.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex accounting standards and transactions.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to coordinate with internal teams and external auditors.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as NetSuite, along with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Google Suite.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, demonstrating leadership and initiative.
Nice to have
- CPA certification or other relevant professional designation.
- Experience working at a Big Four accounting firm or in a similar public accounting environment.
- Knowledge of XBRL/iXBRL tagging and filing processes.
- Background in tax reporting and compliance.
- Experience working in a high-growth or scaling technology company.
- Familiarity with financial automation tools and process improvement initiatives.
