We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Head of FP&A and Strategic Finance to lead our financial planning and analysis functions. This critical leadership role will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and work closely with the executive leadership team to shape and execute financial strategies that support the company's growth, operational efficiency, and long-term success. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial modeling, strategic planning, and team management, with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights. What you'll do
- Lead the development, management, and continuous improvement of comprehensive financial models that support operational planning, sales forecasts, strategic initiatives, multi-year business planning, and potential M&A opportunities.
- Build, mentor, and expand the FP&A team as the organization grows, ensuring the team's capabilities align with the company's evolving needs.
- Partner with business leaders across departments to embed financial insights into operational decision-making processes and strategic initiatives.
- Oversee the preparation of detailed annual financial plans and multi-year strategic plans for presentation to the company's board of directors, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
- Collaborate with department heads and project teams to develop, monitor, and manage their financial plans, budgets, and forecasts, providing guidance and support to optimize resource allocation.
- Design, develop, and automate financial dashboards, KPI metrics, and reporting tools to enhance visibility into financial performance and facilitate data-driven decision-making at all levels of the organization.
- Conduct in-depth analytics, benchmarking, and performance analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities across various business units, providing actionable insights to executive leadership.
- Lead initiatives to improve financial and operational systems, tools, and processes to increase efficiency, accuracy, and reporting capabilities.
- Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and consistency of financial data across multiple sources and systems by collaborating closely with the CFO, Controller, and other finance and business teams.
- Support the development of forecasting models, scenario analysis, and internal reporting processes in partnership with accounting, tax, and corporate teams to improve timeliness and quality of financial information.
- Manage ad hoc reporting requests, special projects, and strategic initiatives as needed, providing expert financial analysis and insights to support decision-making.
- Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in financial planning and analysis to continuously enhance the company's FP&A capabilities.
Requirements
- Proven experience in progressively responsible roles, including banking, private equity, FP&A, or business development, with a track record of leading financial planning and analysis functions.
- Strong background in financial forecasting, operational budgeting, strategic planning, and financial modeling.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and manage complex financial models supporting various business scenarios and strategic initiatives.
- Excellent analytical skills, with high attention to detail and accuracy in financial data analysis.
- Effective communication and presentation skills, capable of translating complex financial concepts into clear insights for non-financial stakeholders.
- Proven ability to build, lead, and develop high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong collaboration skills, with experience working cross-functionally with departments such as sales, marketing, operations, and executive leadership.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing business needs.
- Experience working with financial systems, reporting tools, and ERP platforms, with familiarity in systems such as NetSuite or similar.
- A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation in financial processes.
Nice to have
- Experience in technology, management consulting, investment banking, venture capital, or private equity.
- Familiarity with Adaptive Planning and NetSuite systems.
- Background working within the Software, Tech, or Hardware industries.
- Advanced degrees such as MBA, CPA, CMA, or CFA.
- Prior experience supporting IPOs or working within a public company environment.
- Knowledge of industry-specific financial metrics and KPIs relevant to manufacturing or hardware sectors.

Compensation
At Form Labs, we recognize that equity is a vital part of our total compensation package. Full-time employees receive equity in the form of RSUs, allowing you to share in the company's growth and success. The annual base salary for this position ranges from $175,000 to $250,000, depending on your experience, qualifications, and the impact you will have on our organization.
