Key facts
What you'll do
- Design and develop prototypes and production electronic systems, focusing on circuit design, PCB layout, and embedded firmware development.
- Create and validate sensing and motion systems from scratch when existing solutions do not meet project requirements.
- Employ a scientific methodology to tackle engineering design challenges by designing experiments, gathering and analyzing data, and making informed decisions based on findings.
- Take on responsibilities for system-level architecture, ensuring that all components work seamlessly together.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, sharing your expertise and fostering their professional growth.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate electronic systems into larger product designs.
- Support your designs throughout the entire product lifecycle, from initial research and development to troubleshooting and resolving field failures.
- Document design processes and decisions to ensure clarity and facilitate future reference.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in designing production-ready electronics is essential.
- A portfolio showcasing your previous work and demonstrating your skills and experience in electrical engineering.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to support design choices with data-driven insights.
- Proficiency in both hardware and software, including experience with bare-metal microcontroller firmware, embedded Linux, and Python tooling development.
- A hands-on approach, with a keen interest in supporting your designs throughout their lifecycle.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with line-voltage or high-power electronics.
- Experience in signal processing and/or digital feedback control systems.
- Skills in debugging signal integrity and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) issues.
Skills & tools
- Circuit design and PCB layout software (e.g., Altium, Eagle).
- Embedded systems programming (C/C++, Python).
- Familiarity with microcontrollers and embedded Linux environments.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $115,000 to $160,000 USD, depending on individual skills, qualifications, experience, and expected impact within the organization.
