You will own the daily execution of the company safety and health program on construction sites, ensuring all activities align with the core values of safety, honesty, integrity, and doing what you say. This role requires a proactive mindset, as you will supervise all company safety standards and provide clear direction to crews on site. You will be responsible for delivering and tracking safety training and education, ensuring that every team member understands the risks and procedures relevant to their work. A key part of your ownership involves preparing for work by attending pre-work meetings and conducting thorough site safety orientations and indoctrination. You will maintain a weekly list of high-hazard activities to monitor risk and drive proactive mitigation strategies. This is a field-based role that may involve overtime, compensated at time and one-half, requiring dedication and resilience.

What you'll do

Conduct comprehensive administration of the company safety and health program across all project phases.

Provide on-site supervision and robust support for all established company safety standards and procedures.

Deliver safety training and education sessions to personnel, ensuring comprehension and compliance with regulatory and company requirements.

Attend pre-work meetings and preparatory sessions to assess risks and align safety protocols with the planned activities.

Maintain an organized weekly list of high-hazard activities to facilitate focused monitoring and risk management.

Provide and meticulously keep a record of site safety orientation and indoctrination for all team members and visitors.

Perform inspections and observations to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions promptly.

Investigate incidents and near-misses, analyzing root causes and developing preventative measures to avoid recurrence.

Ensure all documentation related to safety performance is accurate, timely, and readily available for review.

Support the implementation of wellness benefits, including participation in programs such as gym membership discounts.

Assist in the distribution and management of necessary safety equipment and personal protective equipment.

Collaborate with management and labor to promote a positive safety culture and encourage continuous improvement.

Monitor compliance with the company's drug and alcohol policies to maintain a safe working environment.

Assist in the coordination of emergency response procedures and drills as required by the project and company standards.

All other duties associated with a Health and Safety position as directed by management.

Requirements

Minimum of 3 years of experience in Construction safety, demonstrating a proven track record in the field.

Possession of valid First Aid and CPR certification, current and applicable to the construction environment.

Hold a High School diploma or equivalent qualification.

MUST be Bilingual (SPANISH) in both speaking and writing to effectively communicate with all team members.

Must have a VALID, unrestricted driver's license, a clean driving record, and reliable transportation for site access.

Must be able to pass a government background check without issues that would impede job performance.

Ability to work extended hours, including overtime, as required by project demands and safety needs.

Commitment to adhering to the company's safety policies and all associated procedural guidelines.

Willingness to engage in site-specific training and to adapt to evolving safety regulations and best practices.

Physical ability to perform the essential functions of the role, including walking inspections and standing for extended periods.

Compliance with all company directives regarding substance abuse and workplace conduct.

Willingness to travel as required, which may include assignments lasting up to two weeks consecutively.

Acceptance of the terms related to on-site living arrangements and per diem allowances during travel assignments.

This is a field-based full-time role that requires travel up to two weeks consecutively, with per diem and housing provided by the company. The position may require the use of a personal vehicle or the acceptance of a truck or allowance, along with a gas card for travel-related expenses. Candidates must be willing to adjust their schedules to meet the demands of the construction timeline and safety obligations.
