About the role
The owns the full scope of nutrition care for pediatric and adolescent eating disorder patients within a fully virtual treatment environment. You will serve as the clinical expert guiding families in nutritional restoration and helping them build a healthy relationship with food. This role requires collaboration with therapists, physicians, peer mentors, and family members to ensure cohesive and evidence-based care delivery. You will translate complex nutrition science into practical and compassionate guidance that families can implement at home. A core part of this position is challenging harmful beliefs about food and weight while supporting sustainable recovery. You will be responsible for maintaining detailed clinical records and ensuring all care aligns with Equip's structured treatment protocols. This position is integral to the multidisciplinary team and directly impacts patient outcomes and family engagement.

What you'll do
- Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments during initial telehealth visits to establish baseline patient needs and treatment goals.
- Prescribe individualized meal plans using Equip's feeding philosophy and structured approach to support gradual nutritional rehabilitation.
- Guide patients and families through exposure exercises for fear and challenge foods within a supportive virtual framework.
- Communicate nutrition-related updates, concerns, and progress clearly to therapists, physicians, and peer mentors on the treatment team.
- Echo and reinforce the treatment team's directives to present a united front and maintain consistency for the patient and family.
- Update electronic medical records thoroughly and in a timely manner according to Equip's policies, procedures, and compliance standards.
- Reassess nutritional needs on an ongoing basis and adjust recommendations as the patient progresses through different stages of recovery.
- Deliver evidence-based nutrition education that targets irrational thoughts and beliefs about food, weight, shape, and eating disorder behaviors.
- Assist in the development and implementation of discharge plans that support long-term nutritional stability and relapse prevention.
- Establish strong therapeutic relationships with families by setting appropriate boundaries and building a working alliance focused on treatment goals.
- Manage a high-volume caseload of up to 80 patients, ensuring each receives comprehensive care across a treatment timeline of up to 52 weeks.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team members, including therapists, doctors, and peer mentors, to coordinate holistic patient care.
- Demonstrate strong organizational and results-driven behaviors while balancing clinical priorities with operational requirements.
- Remain comfortable and adaptable in a fast-paced, innovative environment that evolves based on patient needs and clinical advances.
Requirements
- Must hold an active license to practice in the state of Oklahoma, ensuring compliance with regional regulatory standards.
- Possess a minimum of a bachelor's degree or college coursework accredited or approved by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND).
- Be a licensed Registered Dietitian (RDN) with a demonstrated history of clinical experience in eating disorder treatment.
- Prefer candidates with specific exposure to and experience in family-based eating disorder treatment approaches, though this is not mandatory.
- Capable of managing a large caseload of up to 80 concurrent patients, each receiving care for a maximum duration of 52 weeks.
- Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and family members.
- Have proven experience working within interdisciplinary clinical teams in a healthcare or therapeutic setting.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and driven by measurable outcomes and patient success.
- Able to analyze complex clinical information and balance business constraints with high-quality patient care.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment that embraces rapid change, innovation, and evolving best practices.
Nice to have
- Previous experience with virtual or telehealth eating disorder treatment platforms.
- Familiarity with Equip's treatment philosophy, feeding framework, and family-based approach.
- Experience utilizing electronic medical records specific to telehealth behavioral health care.
Practical notes
Equip allows Patient Scheduling, Monday
Friday, between 8am-8pm in the Patient's timezone.
- Ability to provide 30 hours a week of availability for direct patient care, including new patients and follow-up sessions.
- Ability to commit to a minimum of 16 hours of direct patient care after 2 pm in your patient population's time zone throughout the week.
- Ability to commit to working unlimited contracted hours with flexibility to accommodate patient needs across the calendar.
