About the role
The leads the nutritional component of a virtual, evidence-based eating disorder treatment program designed to make recovery accessible to all. In this position, you will partner with families to guide children toward a healthier relationship with food using proven family-based treatment methods. You will operate within a fully remote, virtual clinic model, delivering care through a dedicated telehealth platform that spans all 50 states. Your clinical judgment will be integral in translating complex nutrition science into practical, compassionate guidance for both patients and their support systems. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary clinical team to ensure that every nutrition intervention aligns with the broader treatment goals and philosophy of the organization. This role requires a high level of initiative, empathy, and precision as you help patients dismantle disordered eating patterns and rebuild sustainable, healthy habits. Your work will directly influence measurable patient outcomes and the long-term success of their recovery journey.

What you'll do
Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments during initial telehealth appointments to establish a baseline for patient needs and treatment goals.
Develop and implement highly individualized meal plans that reflect Equip's feeding philosophy and adapt to the evolving needs of the patient and family.
Guide patients through structured exposure exercises to help them gradually confront and reduce fear associated with challenging foods.
Serve as the primary nutrition expert on the treatment team, clearly articulating nutrition plans and adjustments to therapists, physicians, and family mentors.
Echo and reinforce the treatment team's directives to maintain a cohesive, united clinical front during family sessions and communications.
Update detailed progress notes and treatment plans in the electronic medical record on a weekly basis to ensure accuracy and continuity of care.
Reassess nutritional and caloric requirements on an ongoing basis, making timely recommendations to the clinical team as the patient progresses.
Deliver psychoeducation on nutrition and cognitive distortions related to food, weight, and body image to help patients and families build sustainable coping skills.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary colleagues to coordinate care, ensuring that nutritional goals are aligned with therapeutic and medical objectives.
Support the discharge planning process by providing clear nutritional benchmarks and transition strategies for patients moving to lower levels of care.
Establish and maintain strong therapeutic relationships with families, setting appropriate boundaries while fostering trust and collaboration.
Allocate a dedicated block of 30 hours per week for direct patient care, ensuring consistent availability for new evaluations and follow-up sessions.
Reserve a minimum of 16 hours per week for late afternoon and evening appointments to accommodate patients in different time zones.
Commit to working two evenings per week until 8 pm to support families who require flexible scheduling options.
Requirements
Must hold an active Registered Dietitian license in the state of Minnesota to practice in a clinical capacity.
Possess at least a bachelor's degree from an institution whose nutrition and dietetics coursework is accredited or approved by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND).
Be a Licensed Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) with a demonstrated history of clinical experience, although specific eating disorder experience is preferred.
Have prior exposure or experience with family-based eating disorder treatment approaches, which is preferred but not mandatory for consideration.
Demonstrate the capacity to manage a high-volume caseload of up to 80 active patients, with each case potentially spanning a treatment duration of up to 52 weeks.
Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders across virtual platforms.
Bring previous experience working within interdisciplinary treatment teams in a clinical or healthcare setting.
Be highly organized, detail-oriented, and driven by results to meet the demands of a structured virtual care environment.
Show an aptitude for understanding and balancing business constraints with clinical priorities to ensure sustainable and ethical care delivery.

Nice to have
Previous experience working within virtual or telehealth healthcare models.
Familiarity with evidence-based eating disorder treatment modalities such as CBT-E, DBT, or FBT.
Knowledge of current research and best practices in nutritional rehabilitation and weight restoration.

Working Hours
Equip allows Patient Scheduling, Monday
Friday, between 8am-8pm in the Patient's timezone.
Ability to provide 30 hours a week of availability for direct patient care, including new patients and follow-up sessions.
Ability to commit to a minimum of 16 hours of direct patient care after 2 pm in your patient population's time zone throughout the week.
Ability to commit to working until 8pm two evenings per week (
