About the role
The owns the clinical leadership and execution of nutrition care for patients and their families within our virtual, evidence-based treatment model. This role owns the development of individualized nutrition treatment plans that are delivered via telehealth to ensure patients restore a healthy relationship with food. The hire will collaborate closely with therapists, physicians, peer mentors, and family members to reinforce treatment goals and maintain a united clinical front. They will guide patients and families through exposure to challenge foods while delivering education that targets irrational beliefs about nutrition, weight, and shape. This position owns the end-to-end nutritional care process, from initial assessment through discharge planning, within a fast-paced, fully remote environment. The Registered Dietitian is responsible for translating complex nutrition science into practical, family-friendly guidance that supports lasting recovery.

What you'll do
- Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments during initial telehealth visits and formulate precise nutrition care plans.
- Prescribe and adjust meal plans using Equip's feeding philosophy and structured meal planning approach during virtual family sessions.
- Guide patients and families through gradual exposure to fear and challenge foods within the context of family-based treatment.
- Communicate nutrition-related concerns and meal plan details clearly to therapists, physicians, and peer mentors on the treatment team.
- Echo treatment team directives consistently to present a united clinical front during all family interactions.
- Update patient charts weekly in Equip's electronic medical record with progress notes, treatment goals, and nutrition assignments.
- Reassess nutritional and therapeutic needs on an ongoing basis and communicate adjustments to the broader care team.
- Provide evidence-based nutrition education that challenges distorted thoughts and beliefs about food, weight, shape, and eating behaviors.
- Assist in the coordination and planning of patient discharge to ensure continuity of care and appropriate follow-up strategies.
- Establish and maintain therapeutic rapport with families while setting clear boundaries aligned with Equip's treatment philosophy.
- Support patients in developing sustainable eating patterns that align with recovery goals and medical necessity.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the clinical operations and growth of the virtual eating disorder program.
Requirements
- Must hold an active Registered Dietitian license in the state of Texas.
- Must possess a minimum of a bachelor's degree with coursework accredited or approved by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND).
- Must be a Licensed RDN with eating disorder experience preferred, including exposure to family-based eating disorder treatment approaches.
- Must be capable of managing a caseload of up to 80 patients, with each patient receiving care for up to 52 weeks.
- Must demonstrate strong communication and collaboration skills when working with diverse clinical teams and stakeholders.
- Must have experience working effectively on interdisciplinary treatment teams in virtual or telehealth settings.
- Must be highly organized, results-driven, and able to manage multiple priorities in a confidential healthcare environment.
- Must be able to understand and balance business constraints with clinical priorities while maintaining high standards of care.
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that is subject to rapid change and innovation.
- Must be able to commit to providing a minimum of 30 hours per week of direct patient care, including new patient evaluations and follow-up sessions.
- Must be able to commit to a minimum of 16 hours of direct patient care after 2:00 PM in the patient's local time zone on weekdays.
- Must be able to commit to working until 8:00 PM on two evenings per week to support patient scheduling needs.
- Must be able to schedule patients Monday through Friday between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM in the patient's timezone.

- Friday, between 8am-8pm in the Patient's timezone.
- Ability to provide 30 hours a week of availability for direct patient care, including new patients and follow-up sessions.
- Ability to commit to a minimum of 16 hours of direct patient care after 2:00 PM in your patient population's time zone throughout the week.
- Ability to commit to working until 8pm two evenings per week (you will be responsible for your own licensure in the state(s) where your patients reside).
