About the role
The leads the delivery of nutrition care for patients and their families within a fully virtual treatment environment. This role owns the clinical responsibility for developing and executing individualized nutrition plans that align with evidence-based practices and the specific goals of eating disorder recovery. The position requires close collaboration with a multidisciplinary clinical team to ensure that nutritional directives are implemented consistently and effectively across all touchpoints. You will serve as the primary nutrition expert for families, translating complex dietary needs into actionable and compassionate guidance. A core part of this role involves building trust with families and guiding them through the practical application of Equip's feeding philosophy. The position demands a high level of adaptability to support patients through various stages of treatment in a virtual setting. You will be instrumental in translating clinical assessments into clear, measurable nutrition objectives that drive patient progress. Ultimately, this role is fundamental to ensuring that nutritional restoration is both safe and sustainable for every patient served.

What you'll do
Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments for new patients and translate findings into detailed, individualized meal plans.
Implement Equip's feeding philosophy by prescribing and adjusting meal plans that target nutritional restoration and physical recovery.
Guide patients and families through the systematic exposure to and integration of challenge and fear foods within the treatment plan.
Serve as the primary nutrition communicator, articulating clear directives and updates to the broader Equip treatment team.
Echo treatment team priorities in family sessions to maintain a cohesive and united clinical approach.
Perform ongoing monitoring of patient progress, adjusting nutrition interventions as clinical status and goals evolve.
Reassess dietary and weight restoration needs regularly, providing timely recommendations to support medical stability.
Deliver psychoeducation to families that challenges harmful beliefs about food, weight, shape, and nutrition.
Develop and maintain detailed nutrition notes and care plans within the electronic medical record system accurately and promptly.
Support the discharge process by creating appropriate nutrition plans for continued care beyond Equip's primary treatment.
Establish and maintain a therapeutic rapport with families, setting boundaries that support effective treatment outcomes.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of clinical processes and documentation standards related to nutrition care.
Provide a minimum of 30 hours per week of direct patient care, including time for new patient evaluations and follow-up sessions.
Ensure availability for a minimum of 16 hours of direct patient care after 2 pm within your designated working time zone.
Requirements
Hold a minimum of a bachelor's degree or college coursework accredited or approved by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND).
Possess an active Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) license, with eating disorder experience being a strong preference.
Demonstrate prior exposure or experience with family-based eating disorder treatment approaches is preferred but not mandatory.
Exhibit strong communication and collaboration skills when working with diverse clinical and administrative teams.
Have a proven track record of working effectively within interdisciplinary treatment environments.
Be highly organized, results-driven, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a clinical context.
Show the ability to understand and balance business operational needs with clinical excellence and patient safety.
Thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that is subject to rapid change and innovation.
Be able to commit to working evening hours two days per week, concluding no later than 8pm.
Flexibly adapt to varying patient schedules, which may include working hours between 8am and 8pm.
Maintain reliable availability for 30 hours of direct patient care weekly as scheduled.
Adhere strictly to all HIPAA and Equip internal policies regarding patient confidentiality and documentation.
Nice to have
Previous experience delivering virtual eating disorder treatment through telehealth platforms.
Familiarity with specific eating disorder recovery frameworks and therapeutic modalities.
Practical notes
Working Hours: Equip allows Patient Scheduling, Monday
Friday, between 8am-8pm in the working timezone.
Ability to provide 30 hours a week of availability for direct patient care, including new patients and follow-up sessions.
Ability to commit to a minimum of 16 hours of direct patient care after 2pm in your working time zone throughout the week.
Ability to commit to working until 8pm two evenings per week (you choose which evenings).
Ability to attend mandatory meetings (i.e Group Supervision, Treatment Huddles, Labs/Orders, Charting deadlines).
