We are seeking an Intermediate Interior Designer to join our Toronto studio. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong design sensibility. Position Details
This position operates as a full-time engagement in our Toronto studio. The compensation range is $72,629.00 to $94,408.00 annually. The role reports to senior design leadership and interfaces closely with project teams.
What you'll do
- Lead interior design concepts from initial discovery through final delivery, ensuring alignment with project goals.
- Shape spaces that support user health and integrate thoughtfully with the surrounding city context and community needs.
- Draft initial layouts that respond to project programs, site opportunities, and stakeholder expectations.
- Coordinate with engineers and modelers to align technical requirements with spatial concepts and resolve interdisciplinary interfaces.
- Organize design development sessions to translate research findings into clear, actionable interior strategies.
- Refine documentation packages to support permit applications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Prepare client presentations that explain design intent, evaluate tradeoffs, and outline clear implementation pathways for decision-making.
- Support material selection processes to ensure finishes respond to durability, maintenance, user experience, and environmental considerations.
- Track project schedules to keep deliverables aligned with client milestones, review cycles, and project timelines.
- Advance studio knowledge by contributing to internal reviews, pattern development, and continuous practice refinement.
Requirements
You hold at least three years of verified interior design experience in professional practice, demonstrating consistent delivery of quality results. Demonstrated command of drawing standards, construction documentation, and spatial coordination is necessary for success in this role. Current membership in a provincial interior designers association relevant to this jurisdiction is required to practice within the regulatory framework. You show proven ability working with diverse teams, integrating feedback constructively while maintaining design coherence and project integrity. Strong communication skills are essential for effectively collaborating with cross-functional partners and presenting design ideas. A methodical approach to problem-solving will help you navigate complex requirements and deliver practical, elegant solutions.
