About the role

Chartis is seeking an experienced OMOP Implementation Advisor to provide strategic leadership and advisory support for an enterprise OMOP Common Data Model (CDM) initiative. This role is not focused on hands-on development but on guiding implementation strategy and ensuring successful delivery. The hire will serve as a trusted advisor, partnering with client stakeholders and technical teams to validate architectural decisions and oversee project execution. They will drive strategy, governance, and stakeholder engagement to deliver tangible outcomes for healthcare organizations. The ideal candidate brings prior hands-on OMOP experience and has transitioned into project leadership or consulting. They will lead design discussions and coordinate cross-functional alignment across clinical, analytics, and IT teams.

What you'll do

Serve as the subject matter expert and trusted advisor for OMOP CDM implementation efforts across client engagements.

Provide strategic guidance on OMOP architecture, data modeling, governance, and implementation best practices to ensure alignment with OHDSI standards.

Partner with client leadership, technical teams, vendors, and project stakeholders to drive successful project execution and adoption.

Review and advise on ETL strategies, source-to-target mappings, and data transformation approaches developed by technical teams to ensure fidelity to the OMOP specification.

Facilitate project planning, risk management, issue resolution, and executive communications to keep initiatives on track and transparent.

Ensure implementations align with OMOP CDM standards, OHDSI best practices, and organizational objectives to support long-term interoperability.

Lead design discussions and provide recommendations around healthcare data standardization and interoperability to enable scalable analytics.

Review data quality metrics and implementation progress, identifying risks and recommending corrective actions to safeguard project outcomes.

Coordinate across clinical, analytics, research, and IT teams to ensure alignment throughout the project lifecycle and smooth integration of solutions.

Support executive steering committees by presenting project status, risks, recommendations, and implementation roadmaps in a clear and actionable manner.

Mentor technical resources and provide guidance without performing day-to-day development work, fostering team capability and ownership.

Champion the use of real-world evidence, clinical research, and population health initiatives by aligning OMOP data structures to analytical needs.

Leverage experience with healthcare data architecture, clinical terminologies, and vocabulary standards to guide decision-making and resolve complex issues.

Act as a change agent, helping organizations navigate transformation by translating technical concepts into strategic advice for leadership.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Public Health, or related field is required.

7+ years of healthcare data, analytics, informatics, or consulting experience is mandatory for this advisory role.

Previous hands-on experience implementing or supporting the OMOP Common Data Model (CDM) is a hard requirement.

Demonstrated experience leading healthcare data initiatives in a project manager, program manager, engagement manager, or advisory capacity is essential.

Strong understanding of healthcare data architecture, clinical terminologies, and data standardization principles is required.

Experience leading cross-functional teams across business and technical stakeholders is necessary for success in this engagement.

Excellent communication, facilitation, and executive presentation skills are required to convey complex topics to diverse audiences.

Ability to work remotely in a distributed team environment while maintaining collaboration, accountability, and proactive problem-solving.

Nice to have

Experience with the OHDSI ecosystem and OMOP implementation methodologies is preferred.

Prior consulting experience within healthcare organizations or professional services firms is valued.

Familiarity with Epic, Oracle Health (Cerner), Meditech, or other enterprise healthcare platforms is a preferred qualification.

Experience supporting real-world evidence (RWE), clinical research, or population health initiatives is advantageous.

PMP, Scrum Master, or other project management certification is preferred for this leadership position.

Experience leading enterprise-scale data modernization or interoperability initiatives is a beneficial differentiator.

Practical notes

This is a remote temporary engagement with hourly compensation ranging from $100 to $125.

The role requires availability for collaboration across multiple time zones and adherence to project milestones and deadlines.
