About the role
You will own the end-to-end leadership of complex engagements within Chartis High-Reliability Care Solutions, driving the strategic direction and operational execution of projects focused on medical staff governance. You will act as the primary client interface for engagements centered on bylaws, peer review, and rules and regulations, ensuring alignment with client expectations and firm standards. In this role, you will leverage deep expertise to translate complex regulatory and accreditation requirements into clear, actionable strategies for healthcare provider clients. You will design and implement frameworks that enhance the reliability, safety, and efficiency of medical staff operations across diverse healthcare environments. You will mentor junior team members, fostering their technical and leadership capabilities through hands-on coaching and structured feedback. You will also contribute to the development of firm-wide intellectual capital, including tools, methodologies, and thought leadership specific to medical staff governance. You will proactively monitor the evolving regulatory landscape, assessing its impact on client operations and integrating this intelligence into project deliverables. Ultimately, you will be responsible for building and maintaining trusted advisor relationships that position Chartis as an indispensable partner in achieving high reliability in care delivery.

- Cultivate and steward long-term client partnerships by demonstrating deep empathy, proactive problem-solving, and consistent delivery of measurable value.
- Develop and refine sophisticated written and verbal communications that resonate with executive stakeholders and inspire decisive action.
- Guide the professional growth of junior consultants through structured mentorship, performance feedback, and skill-building opportunities.
- Proactively identify opportunities to expand Chartis' influence and capabilities within existing client ecosystems through strategic business development activities.
- Lead the research, analysis, and interpretation of emerging trends in healthcare regulation, medical staff governance, and accreditation standards.
- Convert intricate requirements from bodies like The Joint Commission and CMS into concrete work products and governance protocols.
- Provide subject matter expertise and flexible support across the High-Reliability Care practice, including Compliance, Quality & Safety, and other service lines as organizational needs dictate.
- Drive the development of high-quality deliverables, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and alignment with Chartis' rigorous standards for reliability and excellence.
- Champion the adoption of best practices in meeting facilitation, decision-making frameworks, and stakeholder engagement to enhance project outcomes.
- Contribute to the growth of the Chartis brand and market presence through active involvement in marketing initiatives, thought leadership, and client-facing events.
- Evaluate and integrate new tools, data, and industry insights to continuously improve the effectiveness of engagement methodologies.
- Ensure all project activities are conducted in strict compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical guidelines relevant to the healthcare sector.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor's degree as a mandatory educational credential for all candidates.
- Possess a minimum of 6 years of cumulative professional experience focused on medical staff services or operational initiatives within healthcare settings.
- Demonstrate a proven track record of managing and directing the work of others, with a minimum of 3 years in a formal people management capacity.
- Exhibit substantial experience in leading complex consulting engagements or directing multidisciplinary work teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Bring deep, hands-on experience in medical staff services, including bylaws administration and governance operations.
- Show a comprehensive understanding of medical staff governance structures, including executive committee dynamics, bylaws, and credentialing and privileging processes.
- Demonstrate mastery in facilitating a wide range of internal and external meetings with diverse stakeholders.
- Prove the ability to successfully oversee numerous projects with intersecting deadlines while maintaining a sharp focus on priorities.
- Have a thorough familiarity with the regulations and standards that govern medical staff operations in healthcare environments.
- Possess the capability to interpret and articulate complex regulatory and accreditation requirements in practical, implementable formats.
- Have experience working collaboratively with cross-functional internal teams and external client stakeholders.
- Show strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills applied to healthcare-specific challenges.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills tailored to various audiences, including C-suite executives and clinical professionals.
- Be willing to travel domestically for client engagements, understanding that the role may require up to 25-50% travel depending on project needs.

Nice to have
Preferred: Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or equivalent certification in healthcare compliance or governance.
