What you'll do
- Coordinate project activities by developing detailed project plans that outline tasks, timelines, and resource allocation.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and addressing any concerns or changes in project scope.
- Monitor project progress and performance metrics, providing regular updates to team members and management to ensure alignment with project goals.
- Facilitate project meetings, including kick-off meetings, status updates, and post-project evaluations, to foster collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Assist in the preparation of project documentation, including reports, proposals, and presentations, to support decision-making processes.
- Manage project budgets, tracking expenses and ensuring that projects remain within financial constraints while delivering quality outcomes.
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project timelines and deliverables.
- Collaborate with various departments, including engineering, environmental, and planning teams, to ensure that all aspects of the project are coordinated effectively.
- Support the development and implementation of project management best practices and methodologies within the organization.
- Maintain a comprehensive project database, ensuring that all relevant information is up-to-date and accessible to team members.
- Assist in the onboarding and training of new team members, providing guidance on project processes and tools.
- Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with industry trends and project management techniques.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in project management, business administration, engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in project coordination or management, preferably within the engineering or consulting sectors.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools, such as Agile, Waterfall, or PMBOK.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
- Proficient in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Trello, Asana) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated and proactive.
Nice to have
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Experience in environmental consulting or engineering projects is a plus.
- Familiarity with budgeting and financial management in a project context.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards relevant to engineering projects.
- Experience with stakeholder engagement and public consultation processes.
