What you'll do
- Lead the design and development of electrical systems for diverse projects, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Conduct detailed analyses and simulations to evaluate the performance of electrical systems and components.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical and civil engineers, to integrate electrical systems seamlessly into larger projects.
- Prepare technical documentation, including specifications, reports, and project plans, to communicate design intent and project progress.
- Oversee the installation and commissioning of electrical systems, providing guidance and support to contractors and project teams.
- Perform site inspections and assessments to ensure that electrical installations meet design specifications and safety standards.
- Manage project timelines and budgets, ensuring that deliverables are met on schedule and within financial constraints.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to foster their professional development and enhance team capabilities.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to ensure that Bamboohr remains at the forefront of electrical engineering solutions.
- Participate in client meetings to understand project requirements and present design concepts and solutions effectively.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes and methodologies within the organization.
- Support business development efforts by preparing proposals and participating in presentations to potential clients.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on design and project management.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation or eligibility for registration in New Brunswick is preferred.
- Proficiency in electrical design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of electrical codes, standards, and regulations applicable in Canada.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Experience with project management methodologies and tools is an asset.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with renewable energy systems and sustainable design practices.
- Experience in the industrial or commercial sectors is a plus.
- Knowledge of energy efficiency and conservation strategies.
- Previous involvement in business development or client relationship management.
