What you'll do

• Lead and manage municipal engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Conduct comprehensive feasibility studies and assessments to evaluate project viability and community impact.

• Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and interns, fostering a culture of learning and professional development within the team.
• Participate in public consultations and presentations to communicate project objectives and gather community feedback.
• Monitor project progress and performance, implementing corrective actions as necessary to achieve project goals.
• Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in municipal engineering to enhance service delivery and project outcomes.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in municipal engineering, with a proven track record of managing complex projects.
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Nova Scotia or eligibility for registration.
• Strong knowledge of municipal engineering principles, practices, and regulations.
• Proficiency in engineering design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GIS applications.
• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and stakeholders.
• Experience in conducting public consultations and presenting technical information to non-technical audiences.
• A commitment to safety, sustainability, and ethical engineering practices.
