Calsolarinc is seeking a dedicated and skilled State Certified Journeyman Electrician (Gen Electifcia) specializing in photovoltaic (PV) solar systems. This full-time position is based in the vibrant city of San Diego, California, where you will play a pivotal role in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of solar energy systems. What you'll do

Install, maintain, and repair photovoltaic solar systems in residential and commercial settings, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
Conduct thorough site assessments to determine the best solar solutions based on customer needs and system capabilities.
Collaborate with project managers and other team members to develop project timelines and ensure timely completion of installations.
Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues related to solar systems, including inverters, wiring, and battery storage systems.
Ensure all installations comply with local, state, and national electrical codes and regulations, as well as company safety policies.
Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding system operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Train and mentor junior electricians and apprentices, fostering a culture of learning and safety within the team.
Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and maintenance activities, ensuring documentation is up to date and accessible.
Stay informed about industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in solar energy and electrical work.
Participate in ongoing training and certification programs to enhance skills and knowledge in the solar industry.
Assist in the development of project proposals and cost estimates for potential clients, providing technical expertise and insights.
Work collaboratively with other trades and contractors on job sites to ensure seamless project execution and adherence to schedules.

Requirements

Valid State Certified Journeyman Electrician license (Gen Electifcia) in California.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical work, with a focus on solar energy systems preferred.
Strong understanding of electrical codes, safety standards, and best practices in the installation and maintenance of PV systems.
Proficiency in using electrical tools and equipment, including multimeters, wire strippers, and power tools.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues effectively.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and a strong work ethic.
Willingness to travel to job sites as needed and work in various weather conditions.
Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work at heights as required by the job.

Nice to have

Experience with battery storage systems and energy management solutions.
Familiarity with renewable energy incentives and financing options available to customers.
Additional certifications in solar installation or related fields (e.g., NABCEP certification).
Bilingual skills, particularly in Spanish, to better serve a diverse clientele.

Skills & tools

Proficient in electrical design software and tools relevant to solar installation.
Familiarity with project management software to track project progress and timelines.
Knowledge of safety equipment and procedures specific to electrical work and solar installations.

Practical notes

This position may require occasional overtime and weekend work to meet project deadlines.
Candidates must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to various job sites.
